On October 17, 2025, at approximately 8:18pm EST, I received the following message from someone named Rhonda C. Tinch, claiming to be a recruiter, who helps people get jobs in the legal field. She claimed that a friend of mine referred me to her. She advised me of 2 current job openings for which I could be considered before they were made public. I am currently seeking a new job and they both sounded interesting. I replied and advised her which of the jobs I wanted to apply for and sent my resume. Thereafter she advised that per the Hiring manager, although my resume was strong, it needed to be revised and properly formatted for optimal effect. Tinch advised that she would connect me with a resume specialist and provided an email address. I inquired as to the resume specialist's name and she advised her name is Ashley Cash. I emailed "Ashley Cash" and inquired more about the process. I also researched the name and the company, Elite Resume, and I didn't notice an affiliation. I received a response that didn't seem to be from Ashley Cash, esp since the email address was generic, [email protected]. The replied and advised me that she is Ashley Cash and requested me to provide my send the job description, along with me resume so that she could tailor it and give any feedback. Instead of responding, I did more research. I also emailed Tinch to find out who referred me to her; as of the writing of this, she has not responded. I found Ashley Cash on LinkedIn and her profile matched a profile I had seen online, so I sent her a private message. I explained to her the situation and advised her that I was checking the validity of the email I received due to the prevalence of scams. I asked her if she knew Tinch or if she was affiliated with the company. Although Ashley Cash is a resume writer, she advised that she doesn't know Rhonda Tinch and is not affiliated with the Elite Resume. I received an email from the so called resume specialist, advising that she is awaiting further info to assist me with the job, however, I didn't respond. I am writing this because I have heard of scams like this before and I am annoyed that someone would stoop so low as to prey on job seekers like me. It is shameful and we have got to put this to an end. I want to do whatever I can do to stop this nonsense from happening. I have attached copies of my correspondence with both Tinch and the resume specialist.
