I received a voicemail stating that someone would file a suit with the courts in my parish and put Lafayette Parish Court if i did not make a payment toward a loan I received back in 2020. The “attorney” told me that i could call him back at noon tomorrow if i was unable to make a payment on the day of our phone call. I proceeded to call back to make payment arrangements and he told me no & was very rude and spoke very aggressively to me during that time frame and threatened me with wage garnishment if i did pay $600 which is half of what he’s saying that I owed originally. I am skeptical about paying any money because he did have my full name and address and the loan place name, so i assumed he was a legitimate debt collector. Please advise if anyone has gone through the same & watch out for this scam
