Medicare sent an explanation of benefits that included a $2,250 charge for 300 urinary catheters under billing code A4352-KX. Medicare approved the claim and paid 80% of it leaving Medigap to pay $450. The person quoted as being the parient has never needed, ordered, used or received such a product. The claimed prescriber, Dr Daphne L Bryan is a doctor in our city but the claimed patient has never met her nor sought treatment from her. The patient had previously received non ordered knee braces from the same company a few years ago and reported it as fraud to Medicare. Medicare suggested she return the product to them and had no interest in following it up. Subsequent attempts to report the fraud to the FBI solicited a "call Medicare" response. When I searched this company on the web, the first thing that came up was "probable scam" based on at least one identical. BBB complaint. Make sure you read the Medicare claims summaries to identify these types of fraud.
