I was scammed by a woman in Jackson, Tennessee, named Sabrina Phillips who operates under the name House of Boxers and is also connected to LuLu’s Coffee Shop (60 Bowling Dr., Jackson, TN). On September 4, 2024, I paid her $1,250 via Venmo as a deposit for a boxer puppy. We agreed that I would pick up the puppy in Murfreesboro, TN, on October 19, 2024. She initially communicated through the Good Dog app, then by text, sent me pictures and videos of a flashy brindle male puppy, and confirmed receiving my deposit. Soon after payment was made, she stopped responding to calls and texts. I called and texted multiple times over several weeks, but she sent me directly to voicemail and did not return my messages until I told her that theft by deception is a felony and that I intended to press charges. Then She told me, and another buyer she scammed, that “all of the puppies died.” This excuse, combined with her refusal to respond, indicates that she is collecting deposits without delivering puppies. Her phone number (731-437-8498) is listed publicly as the contact for LuLu’s Coffee Shop, linking the business to this scam. This appears to be both a puppy deposit scam and potentially an issue of improper or nonexistent breeding. I am filing reports with law enforcement, Venmo, and federal fraud agencies, but I want to warn others through BBB so no one else loses money to this scheme.
