Description

I was originally contacted by Poppie Henshaw about a data entry position I applied for on indeed. I was told to contact Mrs. Jessie Anne Duckworth via MS Teams whom I did a chat interview with. After successfully completing the interview process I was sent a job offer letter which I filled out and sent back. I was also told to provide pictures of the front and back of my social security card and Id. Then I was called by someone from thier tech department who informed me I would be sent 2 iphone 16 pro max, 2 ipad pro 13, a macbook, an apple desktop computer and a printer/scanner/copier. I then recieved a text from verizon with my order info and was again required to submit front and back pictures of my id to verify my identity. Once that was complete, I recieved a tracking number for the 2 phones and 2 ipads that were to be delivered by September 25, 2025. I recieved those devices and was told to first submit a picture of the unopened box, then open the box and submit pictures of the front and back of each unopened device box. Once that was complete, I got another call from the tech department informing me I needed to repackage the devices and overnight ship them via UPS or FedEx to Earl and Martinez 100 W 139th st. Apt 49b New York, NY 10030 to be activated onto the company server along with the other equipment I would be recieving. I was told to submit a picture of the reciept and tracking number and supplied with a reimbursment form to fill out for reimbursment of the shipping cost. The form asked for my bank account number and routine number and Mrs. Duckworth also kept referring to it as a routine number instead of a routing number. Then today I recieved a phone call from the same tech person I've been talking to, but from a different phone number saying that apple required something to set up all of the equipment in my state so I needed to buy 3 $500 apple gift cards and then submit the purchase reciept with proof of activation on it. I stated that that was a major red flag and was uncomfortable proceeding further and was told they understand how inconveniencing it can be to make purchases out of pocket and they will have the payment processed and I would be required to fill out the reimbursment form and also include my payment account and routine number for payment processing that will be scheduled for tomorrow. I said the fact that they keep referring to it as a routine number instead of a routing number is also throwing up a red flag and I don't have $1500 that I can risk losing on what appears to be a scam. There have been no more responses or phone calls since.
