I applied for a job at Xablecath via LinkedIn. Someone claiming to be Jessica Beason from Xablecath emailed me, asking for my resume (which has my name, address, phone number, email address, etc. on it). She replied again with links to a required assessment test and to a Microsoft Office Forms page. After completing the assessment and entering my information on the Forms page, she sent me a job offer. However; the job offer included a brief mention of needing to pay to obtain "a personal license for the software used in transmitting data, specifically for remote work purposes. The software requires every user to upgrade their account using their personal wallet, which must match the name on their account. This is in compliance with the Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws. Therefore, the company will issue an expense check to you specifically for the purpose of getting started. You are expected to use the funds from the check only for the purpose of acquiring the license." When I replied back to the job offer email, I asked Jessica for more information prior to signing and returning the letter, and I shared my concerns about the above information. She never responded back to me.
