Description
Steve Everett advertised his company American bunkbeds on Facebook marketplace. After reaching out to him through Facebook messenger and speaking at length over the phone and via text, we contracted with him to make a set of bunkbeds that he said will be delivered in 10 business days. He asked for the full amount upfront, but we were only comfortable with sending half of the amount as a deposit, and paying the other half upon delivery. He settled on August 8 as the delivery date and then began giving a string of suspicious excuses starting August 6 and delayed delivery four or five times over several weeks. It became apparent that this was a scam and we would never receive the bunkbed so we asked for our money back. He agreed to send the money back and stated that a refund via check was mailed on August 30 and would be received no later than September 2. The check has still not arrived at September 19; we inquired about it a couple times and he only responded after we informed him we would be filing reports , saying he would mail another check, but when we asked for him to include USPS tracking so that we could confirm it had been sent he went silent once again.
