Description

On the evening of 9/8/25 around 9 PM, I was scrolling through Instagram and caught in a particularly vulnerable moment. I clicked on what I now know was an AI-generated Click-Bait video about the “Pink Salt Trick.” The video was somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 minutes and featured Oprah and Dr. Ania Jastreboff, an endocrinologist at the Yale University School of Medicine. They spoke about the scientific benefits of the Pink Salt Trick, citing research in support of claims and featuring multiple testimonials of many women who had lost significant weight with before/after pictures, and faked segments from Oprah’s show. Viewers were promised that if they stayed until the end of the video, there would be special discounts on the formula with “three bottles free” if purchasing 6. This bargain price was $294 + $19.95 shipping. Viewers were urged to purchase quickly as the ingredients were “extremely rare” and that the company’s suppliers had advised them that after their “limited stock” of less than 200 bottles had run out, they wouldn’t be able to renew the company supply until March 2026. In a weak moment I purchased 6 bottles of the product based on the evidence presented and the fact that both Oprah and a Yale University doctor were endorsing and that the product was reportedly backed by research, including published papers, presented in the video. Also realized that advertising presentation spoke about “the pink salt trick,” but made no mention of the Lipomax brand. That wasn’t revealed until purchase. I began to be suspicious when another video popped up right after the purchase went through urging with me to purchase even more of the product due to limited quantities. This video featured a new person who hadn’t appeared in the previous promotional video. I started researching further that same night and found that: 1) the product is widely available on both Amazon and Lipomax.com websites – there is no evidence of shortage, 2) the product did not contain any of the ingredients that were advertised, 3) neither Oprah nor Dr. Ania Jastreboff has ever used, recommended, or is in any way affiliated with this product or “the pink salt trick,” and 4) the product sells on Amazon and on the manufacturers own website for significantly less than I was charged with the “special deal” – 5 bottles for $49 on Amazon. In the early hours of 9/9/25, I sent requests to the following email addresses to cancel the order and request refund, as specified by the compeny: [email protected] and [email protected]. Turned out that [email protected] was a faked email and I received notice from yahoo that my email could not be delivered. After further investigation as to company contacts, also sent email to [email protected]. Received confirmation within 10 minutes from [email protected] that my email request had been received. Received a second email from [email protected] within 20 minutes of sending my original request for refund offering a 50% refund, despite the claims of 60-day money back guarantee advertised. Responded with request for full refund. Received a response later that day again only offering 50% refund despite claims of a full refund if not satisfied with product. Sent another email today to [email protected] requesting refund and return of unopened product (received 9/13), as per their attached policies. Please note that various emails and business names were given in correspondence: 4U Nature [email protected] Guia Saude Natural / Dr. Emma Lewis [email protected], Address: Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima, 3400, Itaim Bibi, Sao Paulo, Brasil Cartpanda [email protected] Lipo Max [email protected], [email protected]
