This was a 2 part scam, purchase of a used golf cart, this is a very refined website for e bikes and golf carts, purchase included shipping (important part of the scam) they collect for the purchase price via a cash payment service (this was Apple Cash- $2450 sent and lost to the scam) then you get an email/phone call saying you need to contact a shipping agency (another very refined and deferent website) to provide additional information. The shipping agency requires a refundable insurance payment of $1620 to ship via air freight. This according to the shipper is required according to ICAO international standards organization regulations(a real organization). They sent an excerpt of the ICAO document in the email to support their claim of needed insurance. At this point a search online showed shipping insurance for air freight should be about $2.00 for each $100 of value (a calculated rate of about $50) and it’s not required it is advised. When an offer was made to pick up the cart in person to avoid the cost the seller balked and said it could not be picked up in person. Seller and shipper has now gone silent, no response. Prior to making the purchase a search was made for any bad reviews of the company and complaints at BBB. One review was found on Reddit indicting the person had bought e-bikes and received them, I suspect it was a fake review. No complaints found at BBB.
