Description
This scammer poses as a breeder of British Shorthair cats. They advertise a sale of their kittens due to wanting to make room for a new upcoming litter. After submitting a contact form, I received an acknowledgment e-mail right away. They asked legitimate questions about me, such as where I was located, if I raised or owned a cat before, if there was a vet clinic in my area, and how soon I needed the kitten - all showing concern about making sure their kittens are re-homed to loving owners. I gladly answered the questions, and they responded with their physical location and adoption requirements; nothing out of the ordinary. For payment, I chose to use Zelle, but the name they gave errored-out after two attempts. So I switched to Venmo, which went through (Shucks!) I should have seen the red flag when the names of the Zelle/Venmo accounts didn't match the name in the e-mail. They even asked me to take a photo of the confirmation, and e-mail it to them. Anyway, long story short, after payment was made, I sent them the paperwork required by my state to bring in out-of-state animals, and I never heard back from them since.
