Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

After reviewing my own experience and comparing it with numerous public reports, it’s clear that Bright Ports is operating a fraudulent reshipping and identity theft scheme. How the scam works: • Victims are contacted with what appears to be a legitimate job offer (“Purchasing Agent” or “Logistics Coordinator”) that promises high weekly pay. • The company uses untraceable phone numbers, fabricated employee names, and unverified email addresses to communicate. • New “hires” are required to sign a contract that strategically states they will not be paid unless all packages are shipped exactly as instructed, which is designed to prevent victims from questioning the operation. • Packages arrive at the victim’s home addressed in their name, but layered with false identities (e.g.“Mohammed a faroqual”). This tactic conceals the fact that the items are stolen. • The return addresses provided are also fabricated. For instance, I was given 3675 S Noland Rd STE 119, Independence, MO 64055, which upon investigation is nothing more than an abandoned building. • Victims are explicitly instructed to separate, open, or inspect the shipments and to seal them back up & take pictures and document everything. While using your name and address uploading them on a so called “dashboard”. • While the victim is carrying out these tasks, their personal data—name, Social Security number, and address—is being used to open multiple fraudulent accounts. The stolen goods are then resold under these false identities. • Ultimately, victims are never compensated, but their information is compromised, leaving them exposed to identity theft and potential legal consequences. Corroborating evidence: • Multiple complaints on the Better Business Bureau’s Scam Tracker describe this exact pattern: immediate “hiring” without interviews, suspicious websites, and delayed or nonexistent pay. • On Reddit, individuals report nearly falling for the scam but identified red flags after requesting the contract. • TikTok users and scam-watch communities have posted warnings about “Bright Port Logistics,” confirming that any job involving reshipping is fraudulent. • Organizations such as AARP also publicly warn that reshipping roles are not legitimate jobs, but fronts for trafficking stolen goods and harvesting victims’ personal data. Conclusion: Bright Ports is not a legitimate company. It is a fraudulent entity designed to exploit individuals through reshipping scams, identity theft, and the resale of stolen products. Reporting and public awareness are crucial to prevent further victimization.
