Description

I was actively searching for job opportunities on Indeed. On 08/5/2025, I came across a listing for a shipping and receiving position with a company called Bright Haul Freight. I applied, and shortly after, I received three phone calls from the number (505) 572-1116. Thinking it was a legitimate job opportunity, I finally answered. A man identifying himself as Henry Taylor said he was conducting interviews for the position. He asked if I had time to do a quick interview, to which I agreed. From the beginning, he spoke very fast, making it hard for me to ask any questions or get clarification. He claimed my resume looked great and immediately started describing the job duties. He explained that I would be receiving packages at my home, printing out shipping labels, and then dropping them off at FedEx, UPS, or the post office. He said that after shipping my first package, I would receive payment 30 days later through direct deposit or check, depending on my preference. Then, I would start receiving biweekly payments. When I asked about hourly pay, he vaguely stated I would be getting around $4.300, without specifying a clear hourly rate or breakdown. At no point did he ask if I was even interested in the position—he simply said, “You’re hired,” and told me he would be emailing me a link to begin the hiring process. He also mentioned that someone from the company would be reaching out shortly to collect my direct deposit information. When I received the email, I instantly felt something was off. The website looked unprofessional, poorly made, and suspicious. I decided to do my own research on “Bright Haul Freight” and couldn’t find any official website or credible information—just multiple posts and reports about job scams involving the same or similar company name. This experience was very upsetting and feels like a clear employment scam. They tried to pressure me into giving personal banking details without any proper interview process, job offer documentation, or verification. I want to warn others to be cautious of job listings that involve reshipping packages or delayed payments, as they are common signs of a scam.
