I had this mobile mechanic from a Facebook post come out to my house to do a diagnostic on my grandpa’s truck on the 23rd of June after it was stalling and stuttering to start up. He plugged in his code reader and found out that it was a secondary air injection part that was at fault. I continued driving the truck after 2 days after paying him for the truck parts, service, and labor a total of $680 upfront which I later found out after the 2 days passed it was the battery and the hold down for the battery. I told him Wednesday the 25th I’ll rather just return the parts and him to keep the $85 for his services because it ran fine after it was installed. He said he will return it the following day Thursday the 26th and that it’ll be 3-5 business days for my refund to come in ,which 10+ business days go by and I continued calling and asking him to see what’s going on. He ignored and stalled me out for a whole week until Friday the 11th of July, I said I was going down to the autozone where he apparently returned the parts at and then they (Autozone) tell me he got refunded cash on the first of the month which was 5 days or 3 business days after he returned it that Thursday the 26th. He was refunded $326.44 in cash for both parts which was totally off the from the estimate he gave me when he was ordering the parts at my house. We had got into a semi heated exchange of words through text which lead him to stop responding and him saying he wasn’t going to refund anything because he offered to “pay out of his pocket $100-150” Which I declined that offer and gave him till Wednesday to refund my $595 back which he knew 2 weeks ago on Wednesday I needed that refund back. Just a total inconsiderate mobile mechanic who thinks he’s getting away with scamming me all because I trusted him with his knowledge and experience of mechanics.
