I searched "florist in [small town name]" and found Flowers by Nora pop up multiple times in the search. I clicked the website, and the site said "Receive Free Same-Day Express Delivery in [small town name]" and the description said it was local and family-owned. I purchased a sympathy arrangement for a family member who'd just had to put down their horse. I didn't receive an order confirmation email, so I emailed Flowers by Nora and immediately a few things seemed off. The person replying had a name come up "Valery Smith" in all lower case but the email was signed by someone else. The email was a full paragraph long and came within 60 seconds of my email, which tells me it was likely AI generated. And when I looked at the email encryption, it showed the email actually came from a site called Ruth's Roses, which upon a little research, I found hundreds of reports of people being scammed by. I looked closer at Flowers by Nora and sure enough, dozens of reports. It seems like they rebranded to continue their scam. The website is cleverly done and extremely misleading -- as a test, I googled "florist in [different town]" and lo and behold, Flowers by Nora popped up and everywhere on the site that had said the original town name had been replaced by the new one I'd searched, leading people to believe this was a local florist in whatever town they were searching from. My order NEVER arrived and I've been emailing back and forth with Flowers by Nora trying to get a refund and it's just the same AI-generated script over and over from them. Don't fall for it like I did.
