I saw an add for a rental in Cal City, Californa. It was posted on Redfin houses for rent. I sent a request that I was interested in the rental and would like more information. This was at 9:00PM pacific time.. l submitted my request. Shortly after l received a text asking if l was Lorna and did l inquire about the rental. I texted back/replied yes and was immediately texted to me a link to be pre-screened to be able to view the property. After l responded to a few questions it then said l need to pay $49.00 fee and then will be able to view rental. I STOPPED in my tracks right there and did not submit the app. I texted back telling Agent named Adam that l feel this is a scam as l have NEVER had to pay a fee to view a rental. He (Adam) said that if l decided to follow through l would be refunded. I asked why a credit report before viewing. I also said who makes a decision regarding my credit report and he said it would go according to what my credit was if l would qualify. Sounded real scammy to me.. l texted some long texts and l know that this person did not have time to even read what l texted. Sounds like each of his resposes were pre-recorded. I did NOT follow through and l did my research. If any of my texts are needed, l have them.
