Mentalabs - fraud, subscription trap, do not use anything I was taking a test online, which was like occupation-oriented tests and the price was around 1.95 USD. and then after that, they deduct a "monthly subscription fee" on my credit card as much as 39.95 USD per month. I wrote to them and they send AI replies on how they won't refund. This is nonsense - I did NOT use any of their service except that 1.95 USD. it IS a trap for money.

On October 24, 2026, I received an unsolicited iMessage from [email protected] claiming to be "Hannah Bennett from Amazon's Remote Recruitment Team." I had not applied for any such job. It stated the work would take 60-90 minutes per day, 4 days per week, and would pay $100-$600 per day plus a stated base payment of $1,000 for every 4 working days. It also mentioned free training, 15-20 days of paid annual leave, 18 positions supposedly available, and that applicants must be at least 23 years old. The message directed the recipient to text 6823241046 for more information. I did not apply for the job, did not send money, and did not send personal information. Phishing - Phishing Scam - Zelle Impostor

I was trying to buy concert tickets from someone online. None of my money transfers were going through. When I finally got them to work, I realized that the tickets were fake. The person was trying to send me money back claiming they were using a Zelle business account to do so, and since my account was not a business account, they needed to upgrade my account to the business here. I got a call from customer service claiming that I needed to wire them money to increase the balance on my account and that everything would be paid back in full. They were just putting money on temporary hold. I did so because I know that this is common sometimes when opening accounts, but after doing further research, I realized that Zelle does not put money on hold no matter what kind of account you have this person called me multiple times asking for more and more money, each time saying that it would only take a couple more minutes and I ended up being on the phone with them for six hours and losing about $4000

Online Purchase - Fake Book Marketing Services Scam

"Social Media Networking Services" (aka Shalini Wheeler) cold emailed my father after he self-published his tiny biography through Amazon for his friends and family. They provided no services or products yet somehow kept taking money from him for over a year! Since my elderly father requested they Stop and Cancel, there have been at least 22 additional charges spread over three credit cards (9, 2, 1) and Zelle (10). Social Media Networking Services (doing business through PayPal) 15 Hillside Drive West Sag Harbor, NY 11963 They also use this address sometimes: 384 Wellwood Dr Shirley, NY 11967-1328 These are the two main people who continued to bombard my father with emails, invoices, and phone calls to constantly confuse him into paying and/or put spyware on his computer (two months ago we found dozens of trojans, malware, and several remote viewing programs on his computer). I was sitting next to him and he got six phone calls from Richard Berman in less than one hour. Richard Berman - [email protected] Shalini Wheeler - [email protected] From Google: “If you received an invoice, money request, or email from "Social Media Networking Services" via PayPal, this is a scam. Scammers abuse PayPal's legitimate invoice tool to send real notifications with fraudulent attached notes. Their goal is to frighten you into calling a fake "customer support" number or paying for services you never ordered.” Here is the backstory: My *********** ******* father fell victim to fraudulent, deceptive schemes (cold calls/emails, string along with promises, deceptive tactics, constant billing with nothing to show for services and possibly even using spyware) from "vanity press" companies after self-publishing a book. Social Media Networking Services (aka Shalini Wheeler) is the worst of the worst. They would usually charge just under $2000 so as not to raise red flags from the credit card companies or bank. Some of the emails from my dad to these companies go back up to 15 months asking them to cancel the service because he's a retired widower and cannot afford these constant charges. But they keep finding ways to say "we will but first you need to pay this extra fee" or "or the charges are split and you only paid half". He said each company told him it was a one-time fee to list him in a publication and/or promote him yet they keep charging him monthly or sometimes weekly for $1700-$2000!. When he kept telling them to cancel via email, they would then call him (no paper trail) where they would confuse him with sales pitches, claims, upcharges, or "we'll cancel after this one last payment" but they never stop asking for more money (or taking it somehow, he also had malware like trojans and remote desktop viewers on his PC but cannot say if that is related). These charges are spread over all three of his credit cards and recently even Zelle transfers through his bank. We estimate the total is at least $35,000. Each one of the companies is listed as New York so that seems like interstate wire fraud though who knows if their addresses are even real. We are looking for help to try to get most or all his life savings back since he worked 50+ years to save it. My father has some paper trail of emails going back to summer of 2025 asking each company to Stop/Cancel/CannotAfford but they kept up. ** ** ** **** ******* **** *** * ***** ****** *** **** **** *** ******* **** ** ****** ** *** ******** ** ****** **** ********** *** *** ** ***** **** **** ******** I have been gathering documents for the case.

Online Purchase - Online Retailer Scam

I placed an order for clothing on June 7, 2026, and never received the merchandise. I reported the issue and have been promised a refund since July. It is now late October, and I still have not received my money. For months, I have been given repetitive, generic responses with no resolution. I have been more than patient, and I am tired of being given the runaround. There is absolutely no acceptable reason for a refund to remain outstanding for this long, especially when I never received the products I paid for. At this point, I am demanding that my refund be processed immediately. I do not want another automated response or another explanation of your refund process. I want confirmation of the refund amount, proof that it has been processed, and a specific date by which I will receive my money. If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will proceed with escalating my complaint to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and reporting your company through the appropriate consumer protection channels. This situation is completely unacceptable. I expect a meaningful response and immediate action, not another generic reply.

Advance Fee Loan

On Friday, October 23, 2026, I received two unsolicited text messages from SMS short code 32437 promoting a fake loan offer from a business calling itself "USA Loan Solutions." I have never applied for a loan with any such business. The first text was addressed to "Christopher" (that is not my name) and asked me to verify my banking information at the link app.decisionlogic.com/8Y7DDF in order to confirm a loan amount. It gave 844-527-4545 as a support line. DecisionLogic is a legitimate third-party bank-verification service; the scammers appear to be abusing its legitimate verification link to harvest bank login credentials. The second text, signed "Tavonn," falsely claimed I was having trouble with the link and pressured me to call back at 1-415-360-2828 right away, citing weekend urgency to create a false sense of urgency. I did not click the link, did not reply to the texts, did not call either number, and provided no personal or banking information. I lost no money ($0 loss). Online Purchase - www.auburnmotorsks.com

I found a vehicle (2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser) on the Auburn Motors website and called the dealership to learn more about the car and potential next steps. I signed a purchase agreement (Oct 21, 2026) for $11,990 (to be wire transferred) with the car to be delivered to me at my residence in Connecticut. The shipping would be done at the dealer's expense and I would have 10 days to either keep the car or return it again, at the dealer's expense. I then arranged for a local mechanic to visit (on Oct 22, 2026) the lot and take a few pictures of the car, including one of the VIN#. Noone was at the dealership and the car could not be found. I called Auburn Motors back to ask when the car would be available and was told it is not in Kansas but in Colorado. I asked for the street address in Colorado so I could send a mechanic there and was told that physical inspection of the car was not an option. Auburn Motors only deals with online transactions which does not include physical inspection. My concern is that if I cannot confirm the existence of this specific vehicle that once I wire transfer funds they cannot be retrieved. I thought it odd that I would not be allowed to view the car before it is shipped. No fraud has been committed but is this a very risky transaction that could end up in fraud? The company is registered with the SOS for Kansas and has been in existence since 2002. The BBB has no rating for this company.

Unsolicited SMS spam promoting a fake loan-application funnel for a business calling itself "VERFY" (website verfy.co). I never submitted a loan application, never gave consent to be contacted, and the messages are not addressed to me. Two sending numbers were used: 1) Short code 34804 — sent messages saying "Your app was received" with links to verfy.co/t/#7moe53 (received 2026-08-23) and verfy.co/t/#7za7n8 (received 2026-10-23). I am filing this complaint regarding Xian Magic, a business operating in Xi’an, China, for suspected fraudulent business practices, failure to fulfill a paid order, misleading shipping representations, and refusal to provide a refund. I paid the company through Wise for goods that were never properly delivered. Despite repeated requests for legitimate shipping documentation, proof of shipment, and resolution, the company and its representative, Jason Ren, have provided inconsistent explanations, repeatedly delayed fulfillment, and failed to adequately substantiate their shipping claims. After continued delays and unsuccessful attempts to resolve the matter, I formally rejected further shipment attempts and demanded a full refund. The company has continued discussing shipment arrangements rather than addressing my refund demand. Multiple written communications have been read or otherwise acknowledged without a substantive response to my requests for reimbursement. I have preserved supporting documentation, including payment records, correspondence, shipping representations, refund demands, and evidence of the company's handling of this transaction. I have reported the matter to financial institutions and relevant authorities, including Wise and Wells Fargo, and have pursued formal fraud and consumer complaints. **I am seeking a full refund of all funds paid, not replacement merchandise, delayed shipment, store credit, or partial reimbursement.** I also request that the Better Business Bureau document the company's conduct, request a formal written response, and assist in obtaining a resolution. I believe the company's repeated failure to fulfill its obligations, substantiate shipping claims, or address legitimate refund demands warrants investigation and consumer protection scrutiny.

They make the amount so high that you would be unable to even make that type of money transfer in one day, but even if you’re did, the amount will just keep going up.

Employment - Employment Scam

I applied for a remote data entry position. They reached out by email to set up a teams meeting interview. The first red flag was once on the meeting it was not face to face but a message thread. They conducted the interview in the “for of a questionnaire”. After completing the questionnaire they said they would be back in touch. Woke up next morning to an offer in my email with several PDF attachments and an employee ID number. I didn’t respond thinking that’s strange that they never actually spoke to me but offer the position. Then I stated getting txts from hiring manager. I called the number on website and it never connects. Asked “hiring manager” to give me proof they are legit before I accepted the position. Could not provide me with anything. Asked for a video call and he responded that those can be faked and does not provide authentication. I called the actual business located at the address Olivewood is using they told me that company is not a tenant at that building.
