If you are moving locally I would advise you to call any other company. I would never use this company again.

*************************** received a physical survey of his home and a Not To Exceed written move estimate as required by the ***********.  The move took the 7.5 hours estimated and the move cost collected was the written estimated Not To Exceed cost, no more.  There was a couple of furniture items that ******* did not have the crew move and he felt that he should be credited for these items. Local moving is done on an hourly basis and not on a piece basis.  The move was done within the estimated hourly time and with no damages as noted on the delivery cargo and property damage reports and Bill of Lading.  The review is based upon ******* being unhappy with the final move cost, which equaled the written Not To Exceed cost he was provided and agreed to and signed prior to the move on 9-28-23.  The move occured on 10-9-23.  This customer is not complaining about *************, move damage or a bad service.  He is unhappy that the move took the time estimated even though he had a few less items.  He has now slandered Mother Lode on ******* Yelp and the BBB in my opinion as he has no complaint on bad service, just that he thinks he paid too much, but what he paid was only his estimated cost that he agreed to with his signature.

We were not happy with Mother Lode Van and Storage. First of all we could not get the move date we wanted and when we finally agreed on a move date, they called us and changed it. The movers that loaded our stuff were nice and seemed to do an okay job. When we received our stuff, one of our items, a video game machine was completely damaged. They loaded it incorrectly and there was damaged to all but one side of the machine. There were rips and tears all over the machine. I called Mother Lode Van and Storage multiple times and was told I would be receiving a call from ***. I never received a call from *** in the claims department. I did finally receive an email from *** about two weeks later, who sent me a claim form. I filled out the form and sent photos of the damage. I received an email from *** and was told that I would only be receiving $42 for a video game machine that new would cost about $600. He claimed they only pay sixty cents per lb, which is not what we chose when we filled out the paperwork in the beginning when we signed up with Mother Lode Van and Storage. I was tricked into signing for the sixty cents a pound when they delivered our stuff. I should have questioned it. It has been two months since we moved and Mother Lode Van and Storage has still not sent us the $42 they said they would. Please do not ever use this company.

Hello *****, we do apologize for the claim processes and will be talking with *** regarding our claim settlement. As for the coverage options for your move on your Order for Services, it gives you the valuation options, and the basic was selected and signed for. Then again on move day, that option was also signed for, each tier of coverage comes with a change to your cost and as such the cost of your move included that basic coverage. Once the move begins this option can not be changed.
