December 2023 and Jan **** my electric bill had been increased over $100 a month from my November 2023 bill. I have a **** square ft house and I am only home 2 weekends a month. When Im not there I turn everything off and turn the thermostat way down. I understand electric floor heaters are expensive but they arent used enough to justify a $300+ electric bill. I called them to question the price and they simply said its been cold this winter and my last years bill for the same periods are about the same in price and usage(last year I was home everyday during the week and weekends). They were no help. I will be installing a wood burning stove this summer. Good luck I hope this helps someone, go with Dominion.I would give ZERO stars but ** forced to leave ONE to complete this review.Review from Annette P

In 2021 I moved to Lake of the ***** and had to use REC for my electric company, for many years I was a Dominion customer and I was very happy with Dominion. In April 2023 I overlook paying my electric bill by 4 days and they send me an email in which being late they triple my electric from $268.00 to $850.00. I ask them why was I not given and alert, this is what they told me because my bill was due on a week-end they did not send me an alert (what a lamb excuse and a ripoff). I told them Dominion never triple my electric bill for being a few days late. They said they care about their customer but they do not--I wish I had another option for another electric company.Review from Rachel K

I'm on auto debit and they debited my account twice. They sent an email, but did not rectify the situation. Still waiting for my refund. There is no option to cancel auto debit on their website. Had to call customer service 2x.

We have attempted to contact Ms. **** multiple times to discuss an issue that occurred on 4/11/2022 in which members on AutoPay bank draft were drafted twice in error. Our bank corrected the issue on 4/13/2022, and this was communicated to affected members via email and/or phone call/letter. We have left voicemails with Ms. **** to ensure that she has no other concerns.Review from Rene B

I'd give them a zero but their is no option for that. I lived in culpeper for 26 years and never has my electric been out for 5 days. According to them it's going to be another 3 days. I say that they were not prepared at all. This is absolutely ridiculous. I am 62 years old. The weather tonight is suppose to be 14 degrees how do they expect people to survive in 14 degree weather. On top if that no hotels as they are all full. Then the electric company expects a full month payment anyways. This disgusts me.Rappahannock Electric Cooperative Response

We have attempted to contact Ms. ******* to discuss the concern listed above, but have been unsuccessful in connecting with her. Ms. ******* is describing the significant major outage event - Winter Storm Frida which occurred on 1/3/2022. Out of approximately 170,000 total accounts, REC had just over 100,000 accounts without power due to the extensive accumulation of wet, heavy snow. Unfortunately some of these took several days to restore due to the extensive damage resulting from the storm.
