I hired George's Moving & Storage to move my storage units contents to my new home in New Jersey. Despite having moved the bulk of the contents to the storage unit a couple years prior, they had no record of the contents. The agent that I spoke with wanted to estimate the weight for the move at 13,000 pounds. I gave a $ 500 deposit on April 12th, just to hold the date. The move was scheduled to pick up on May 1st, but the delivery date was uncertain. I was charged a "non-binding estimate" of $ 9,960.93 on April 28th. So that's a total of $ 10,460.93 before anything was done. When I met the crew at the storage unit, they told me that they would deliver on May 3rd, & did so. It would have been nice to know before then, but still. The driver admitted that the weight turned out to be considerably less when he delivered, only 11,000 pounds. Today is May 23rd, & I have been in touch with George Moving repeatedly. After multiple messages, I was told that the credit would be processed when the paperwork was turned in. But the driver returned to PA on May 3rd, so that doesn't make sense. Then I was handed off to customer service, who subsequently handed me off to accounting. I was then told that I had to wait on "Sirva Corporate" for some reason, & they have ignored my further messages. So I am owed a credit of $ 2,407.10 since May 3rd. I didn't mind being charged in advance, or even rounding up the weight a little, but the credit should have been processed on the 4th or 5th of May. If you're going to charge in advance, then you should credit promptly. A few days to a week at most. It's been over three (3) weeks. That's a significant amount of money that I was overcharged, & their response is anything but comforting. My credit card statement has closed, & now I have to deal with the difference & those penalties. I would use caution in any dealings with George Moving. Don't let yourself be charged in advance.

I hired George Moving to deliver high end furniture to one of my clients. Each chair costing approximately 800.00 each. They delivery guys cut open packaging with utility knives and cut the actual chairs. 3 out of 4 were damaged. There were 2 witnesses to this . They noted damage on paperwork. George Moving offered to reimburse me 37.00 total for the damage. I had to pay out of pocket to purchase new chairs for client I paid them 480.00 for the delivery. I disputed the credit card charge to try to recoup 480.00 out of the thousands I was going to pay out of pocket. They lied to the credit card company and stated the chairs were delivered without being damaged This is credit card fraud. They claim to be a moving company and a white glove delivery service. They have had a bad reputation within the designer business for years. I should have listened to others. I hope this review can prevent someone else from making the same mistake I did
