      1 star

      05/31/2024

My review shows 1 star only because a zero star wasnt available. This shop had my car for 40 days. The day I picked up the car I failed to inspect the opening and closing of the trunk. Later that day I opened the trunk with difficulty to find all trunk carpet soaking wet and my spare tire compartment half full of water. The damaged trunk was left exposed for weeks to the weather elements in his enclosed chain link storage lot. The used trunk lid never fit or sealed properly because new or used hinges were not installed during initial repair. Trunk lid latch never lined up properly and now that has become a total malfunction. Im forced to use zip ties to keep my trunk lid down. This body shop is massive on promises but way short on delivery. I wouldnt recommend taking a banged up garbage can to this body shop for repair. 2 days after picking up my car I found a tiny baggie in my cup holder , not sure of the content but it has been reported to local authorities. I just dont have space here to express all of my complaints concerning poor workmanship and disrespect to my property.

This is in response to the reviews left by you, ******************, as well as all the negative comments your family and friends have made about our business. They are judging us based on what you stated.I feel some facts need to be brought to light. ****************** as far as the ****************************************************************** a gated yard, and as far as elements, we cant control the sun, wind, or any other elements. Regarding rain, we had little to none while your vehicle was in our shop.Your vehicle got exactly what ****************** wrote on the estimate; a new bumper was discontinued, and you yourself found it at a salvage yard, and we purchased it. The additional was found by Allstate; they wrote the final estimate and supplement, and it was fair in order to save your car from being a total loss again. You did return because your trunk, as you stated, wouldnt close, and on 5-20-24, I submitted a supplemental email:. I went into the hospital diagnosed with breast cancer, and my husband stayed with me, so forgive us if I was not concerned about a $75 latch. No disrespect, but my family and God come before our business, ******************. I submitted an additional email, and if you want us to finish the job, if they approve it, we will do that, and if not, thats fine, but dont insinuate anything to do with drugs in our business, ******************, and if you want to come to my shop and discuss it further, thats fine. In the future, you better have proof before making serious accusations about drugs, we did exactly what Allstate paid us o do!Our business has been part of this community since 1995, and people know us and the kind of business we are, ****** has run this business with integrity and honesty, along with the friends who help us. We stand behind our work PERIOD!18. Email to Allstate Good afternoon,I apologize for not following up on this. I have been in the hospital but would like the status of this supplement. The customer wants this resolved, and frankly, so do we. I am working from home, but if you need to speak via phone, please call ****** at ************. We are requesting a reinspect moving forward. A timely response would be appreciated, and this is to address issues the customer has. Regardless of whether we are a DRP, we stand by our work but want our customers to be satisfied. We cannot do anything without approval.Your message ********************** Claims Team Subject: [External] FW: 00074420681-4b03 Sent: Thursday, June 20, 2024, 8:10:26 PM (UTC+00:00) ********, ********* was read on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 8:13:45 PM

      1. Your date of loss was 1-31-24 at 2 p.m.2. Sky ***** Body Shop in ******** and wrote an initial visual estimate on 2-28-24@9:55AM for $889.67 for a Salvage $85.00 trunk and $38.00 taillight, as well as painting, installation, etc. An initial estimate is just that, additional damage may not be visible until teardown, They were salvage but quality parts and OEM.3. I arranged a rental for you, which you picked up on August 3, 2024, from Enterprise.4. Your vehicle was inspected by ******, and a supplement to the estimate from Sky ***** was written to ******************* Your vehicle had suffered a prior total loss, and the possibility of that happening again was likely, but that determination would be made by Allstate. The bumper also had to be replaced, not repaired, as was on the initial estimate. Please note that no work had begun because we were not sure if it would be a total loss. You stated you did not want it to total because it was a good car, and we worked towards that for you.5. On 3-20-24, I called Allstate, left the ** for ******* (the adjuster), and transferred back to claims, where I was informed a virtual assist would be done.6. 3-27-24 ******* called for status. I called Allstate, spoke to ******* at 12:16, and transferred ****** to *******. Per her, it is pending a total loss, and a virtual assist will be done, which is a video call to look at the car. VA done.7. 3-29-24 supplement sent to us by Allstate was approved for repairs, and ******* notified us it was repairable. You indicate to remove emblems you do not want them on. You noted that you were most concerned with rental reimbursement, which you were paying out of pocket. I told you I would do my best for you, and I did by getting all the money you paid reimbursed.9. As notified by the dealer, the bumper is discontinued.10. On 4-9-2024, I called Allstate, spoke to *******, and told her the bumper was discontinued. I told her you needed an extension on the rental. She said she would call the rental team. I called ******* and let him know she would try to get it extended. He stated, They are charging my card, and I want it removed. This is not my fault.11. 4-10-24 Still unable to locate a rear cover on the *** of vendors in our area, ****************** contacted us and said he had located one at **** which I had not heard of, but contacted them, paid for it, and ordered it. I contacted Allstate by email on 4-10-24 at 3:31 p.m. From: Autosonics Autobody Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2024, 2:20 PM To: ************************** Subject: 00074420681-4B03

Good afternoon,Here is the requested information for this claim. ****************** located this as the *** did not find one, and it is discontinued. He contacted me yesterday and I ordered it. I spoke to ****** at *** today, and they are waiting for pickup; they do not deliver to ***********. They said the worst case is Monday. ****************** has an attorney, so I am not sure if maybe that is why he has not been contacted; the last person he spoke with was ****. He just feels, as he stated to me, that this is not his fault, and he is not responsible for the rental. We are doing the best we can to get him back on the road. As I stated to Ms. ******** we were under the impression this was a total after the virtual, and we told ****************** as well that it was likely a total, but the numbers had to be run. We were contacted on the 27th, and Allstate was told we were waiting for the supplement, which we received, I believe, on the 29th, and moved ahead. There was close to a 2000-dollar supplement to the one initially written by *****. Thank you for your time; it is appreciated. From: *** AUTO WRECKING You paid an invoice! (#******, ********)

      12. On 4-12-2024, I contacted Allstate at 9:15 p.m. to talk to ******* again regarding the re-rental, and they were not going to cover the additional days. She said to contact ****; she didnt handle rentals. I contacted ******************, and he was upset and asked me to find emails, proof, whatever to get this covered. I told him I would do whatever I could and sent an email to Allstate.Email below sent 4-18-24 Good afternoon,Prior to the issue with the rental and this claim, we have had our shop for 30 years and have done work probably for every insurance company. In a conversation with the claimant, ******************, the rental department, to be specific, ***** per ******************, all but said the rental adjuster **** stated that, among other things, he was likely dealing with a shady shop, meaning dishonest. It is very unprofessional to insinuate to any claimant or insured any statement such as that; you know no such thing about us or our shop. Although we are not a *** shop, we were selected to perform the repair and did a quality job for ******************. Just because a shop is not part of the *** network has no bearing on the quality of work or warranty they provide. We have and continue to stand behind our work since 1995. The shop, not the insurance company, provides the warrantee. In regard to the car, it was a possible total loss at the time of the virtual, which is what we thought since we heard nothing from the time, we submitted the supplement on the 18th and the virtual until we received the supplement on the 27th. The rental team contacted us on the 27th as per ******** notes and spoke to ******, who told them we were waiting for a supplement if the car was going to be a fixer. We had done no work other than order the parts except for the bumper, which was discontinued while we waited to see if it would be a total loss.

. Also, at the time, we had several other repairs in our shop aside from ******************. We were then provided via email a copy of the supplement on the 27th, but Mr. ******** rental was terminated on the 1st, the repairs could not be done in 2 days, and we are not open on Saturdays or Sundays. I understand everyone is busy and things get overwhelming; however, we waited for approval prior to doing any work on the car. The damage was not minor on this car. On the 18th of March, I did call in and speak to *****. She showed me the email I sent, in which the supplement was received and added to the claim. I was transferred to *******, and I left a voicemail. The virtual was done shortly thereafter.I spoke to ******, one of several people I have spoken to on this claim, on the 10th and explained to her about the rental that I had called on the 9th; she said she saw where I called in; she said no worries at all; it will be ******* who will be placing the extension; she passed me on to *******, who stated she does not handle the rental aspect that is left to the rental department; and she referred me to ****, whom I called on the 10th and left a voicemail. I told him we were still waiting for the bumper to come in because it was discontinued and the *** showed nothing available. ****************** did take it upon himself and located the bumper at **** and I contacted them and paid for it. I spoke to ****, who stated ****************** would be reimbursed, and I was to provide proof of the ordering of the bumper, which I sent, and it was opened and read on the same day. I am including that as well below. I emailed the receipt as well as the email and called and spoke to ****, and he said he had not received it to give it a day. Furthermore, I did not hear back from him and assumed it had been received. See the message below regarding the supplement being read, as well as the message sent on the 10th being read. I am not by any means being rude or disrespectful; as a reputable small family-owned shop, we did not appreciate the comment made, and I appreciated ****************** telling us.

Regarding the rental, I spoke to ****************** this morning at 9:15 a.m., and he stated to me the following: in his conversation with **** by phone, he was going to cover the insurance portion of the rental because he only had liability. He respectfully requests that his account be reimbursed, as he was told. **** also told me he would be reimbursed, but not in specifics as to what was just reimbursed. Enclosures: emails from the 18th and receipt of the supplement The rental bill ****************** sent to me. Please advise if anything else is required, and I will do my best to provide it. You approved the estimate with the salvage parts, which were of good quality, you did not want your car totaled, and we repaired it according to Allstate's estimate, at any time you could have stated you did not want it repaired, and it would have totaled for a second time. We initially wrote our estimate with dealer parts, but your car was older and Allstate did their own estimate. You never once stated to us, you did not want the car fixed. We did a quality repair and as I told you in the email, you were more than welcome to come back once the latch was approved, but you chose to bash us instead. You kept saying I know a lot of people and that's great, but people that know our business know we are honest and stand behind our work. You are more than welcome to come in and if approved by Allstate have your latch put on, that was your complaint and it is very fixable. Thank you.
