On May 10th, i purchased a new AC unit from Clear Air Conditioning & Heating for $12,238. In the two months following the unit leaked causing damaged to my house. Over this period of time, i had 6 services calls for a total of 13 hours and 2 full installations to fix the issue. The Clear *********** team including their very arrogant and condescending service manager ******, could not figure out the problem and wanted to charge me more money and potentially more damage to my house to fix the issue. i asked a friend (retired plumber) to look at the unit and literally figured out the problem in one minute (the installation was all wrong). The piping was angled incorrectly and the unit was titling, cause the leak. My friend fixed the problem with ****** present and personally showed ****** what the problem was and how to fix it. ****** even said, "it's nice to learn something new". If making sure the unit is level and the pipes are angled properly is "something new", this company should not even be in business. Had it not been for my friend, i would have been charged more money and incurred more damage to my house, all because of a bad installation.Not once during this nightmare did the sales rep or owner call me or return my call. i could only speak to ****** (service manager) who was completely incompetent, arrogant and condescending. He pushed back on everything completely reasonable request i made.I feel i am owed a 10% refund ($1223) for this two month inconvenience. (I work for a living and with all working people, my time is money.) And I believe that my friend ****, (who fixed the problem they couldn't) is owed $250.
