            On August 25, I booked three nights at the ******* Resort in ****. My reservation does say that after Sept. 9th, changing the dates of my stay is not possible. We checked in on the 11th, Sunday. By the morning of Sept 12th, the air quality index for the area was 425. My wife and I are in our 70's. We elected to leave as my wife has compromised cardio-pulmonary status and it was not safe to be there. I was told by the desk (*******) that he would contact management to let them know we had checked out. On contacting the resort, I was told that I had to speak with Booking.com. Booking .com (****) said that I had to speak with the resort. I then spoke with ***, manager of bookings at the resort who said that they could not give a refund for "an act of god." My fee for three nights was $444.13. I believe this is unacceptable for the hotel to not refund my credit card $296.

            Seventh Mountain Resort is a timeshare that dabbles in renting rooms like a hotel. It's not a hotel, but nowhere on the website does it tell you the following: 1. No maid service. 2. Take out your own trash. 3. Must have a security deposit on top of the room rate. 4. You must listen to a sales pitch to go to a bigger sales pitch. If you refuse to go to the bigger sales pitch, someone will call later and try to persuade you again. There is a $25 deposit to listen to the bigger sales pitch. Problems encountered: 1. Was promised a King Sized bed when I booked the room and again when I confirmed, but I didn't get one. 2. Room was not ready by 6pm when I arrived. My main gripe is the hard sell from the moment we stepped onto the property. I was not prepared for the persuasion tactics employed by the sales team. If I had known that this was an active timeshare and not a hotel, I would have been more psychologically prepared for the salesperson and the security deposit.
