Compare Pricing! July 2023, My water heater was spraying water in the basement from rusting connections, I made a temporary repair and called Apollo. They were able come the next day and gave me quote for $3100 to replace the water heater. Since I needed hot water ASAP, I approved the cost. The technician and helper completed the work in short order, but had to be called back to replace a leaking pipe, which they reluctantly did; saying we needed to have a plumber return (which would have been an additional cost). I replaced the water heater in our rental the next week, $1800 - same water heater, and expansion tank. It was a more difficult installation with licensed plumber and helper. When I called to Apollo to see if there was an error in their pricing (the difference equaled a second water heater), the supervisor returned my call and left a message saying that this is what they charge day in and day out for a water heater. I asked to meet with him personally to review the charges, and he was never able to find time to meet. . I visited the office in *********, spoke to AR and apologized that I was going to dispute the charge. I got a quote from ***************************, $1910 and relayed the information to the Supervisor and AR requesting that they double check the quote to make sure it was accurate. No response. After more than a month, the HR manager contacted me, apologized for the delay and explained that this is their flat rate pricing, and chastened me for withholding payment and bullying AR. All my interactions with AR were very cordial, both to them and from them. September 12th, I send a detailed timeline to the **** urging them to look into the business practices of their employees. No response received. I talked with my cousin who has owned a plumbing business in ****** and he said they are required to provide a detailed accounting of costs if you ask for it. I have used Apollo for over 30 years and will no longer call them for my plumbing needs.

Please do not use this company for small/residential jobs!!Pros: work was completed very quickly and efficiently, and they were communicative.Cons: they charged us $560 (originally $680, but we were eligible for $130 discount) for only ***** minutes of work. Everyone knows that life is getting more expensive, but I was blown away at the cost of this fix due to the time and nature of the repair. They knew we were desperate for our water to be back on, and I feel as though they prayed upon that, and that we got ripped off because of it.They did provide us with quote beforehand, but we had to accept that price because wed been without water for three days and really had no choice - all other companies were booked out for weeks. I called to request an itemized invoice to see why such a quick fix was so expensive, or if they could reduce the payment, and they told me that they charge a flat fee, and thats just their pricing structure. Their AR lady ******* was as helpful and understanding as she could be, but the Supervisor ***** could not care less that they charged us an outrageous amount, and was not sympathetic nor concerned with the situation. I know they dont care, but we feel taken advantage of and will never be using their services again.

Broken drainpipe 10ft under front lawn.Salesman ***** initially explained the cost of the repairs and the things the crew would need to do, he explained that the reason the price was so high was because of the side walls the crew needed to place into the hole to prevent collapse since the hole will be over 10 feet deep and it would be an OSHA required item which made the price almost double. He also explained they would be working on it for 2 days.We were in sticker shock at the price over $5k, but understood the price based on the explanation given and we signed the agreement. On the day of the install, the crew showed up and we were excited to get the pipe fixed. We periodically checked our house cameras to see how the work was going. The crew finished within 3 hours (not 2 days) abd they did not use the walls. It felt very dishonest that we were charged for something and explained that it cost so much BECAUSE of the safety walls, but they were never used. On our cameras, we saw the crew dig down approximately 6-8 feet, one guy jumped in the hole and removed the ********** and replaced it, then jumped out of the hole and they filled it in, never placing the support walls. While he was in the hole we could see the top of his head which tells me it was not 10 feet down. The guy was under 6 ft tall. While I understand jobs may not always be easy to plan every obstacle along the way, it should also be best practice that if less is needed, the customer is not fronted the bill. The upsetting part is this means one of 2 things, either the company was dishonest about the work that would be performed, or the workers committed OSHA violations, maybe both. Either way, not good. All this aside, we told apollo about it and they said the walls were ordered from a separate company so we would still have to pay for something they didn't use. The walls were dumped in our front lawn and left for a week. Apollo cut communication woth ** and does not respond to our inquiry.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention regarding the recent repair of your broken drainpipe. We sincerely apologize for any confusion or dissatisfaction you have experienced throughout this process.

We understand your frustration regarding the discrepancy between the explanation provided by our salesman, and the actual work performed by our crew. We want to assure you that we take these matters seriously and are committed to addressing your concerns.

After reviewing the details of your case, it appears that there was a an issue regarding the need for the safety walls and the depth of the excavation. Finding the depth of a pipe is not always a precise thing before digging. We rely on our locating tools and any information logged with the city to determine the depth. After the information from the locator came back saying the pipe was 10' deep we had to include all necessary safety equipment needed into the bid as a precaution as we would need to rent it and have it on site prior to the start of the job. This is why the safety walls were included in the bill. It appears that the pipe did not end up being quite that deep if the safety equipment was not used.

We acknowledge that our crew completed the repair in a shorter time frame then quoted, contrary to what was initially explained to you. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, as this was completed faster than even we expected.

We sincerely apologize for any confusion or disappointment caused by this situation. Please rest assured that we are taking steps to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.
We value your feedback and your business, and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
