Out of about 12 corporate moves all around the world, this was without a doubt my worst moving experience. Don't be fooled by their Pricelok guarantee. Read the fine print before you sign. In fact, the Pricelok guarantee locks in nothing. Moda charged me for additional packaging the day of packing and then charged for additional packaging six weeks after my furniture was in storage. When they are holding your furniture hostage, there's nothing you can do but pay the money. Run, don't walk to another moving company!Review from Jennifer D

This business is a total scam. The cost of the move was twice as much as the estimate. I paid for a truck and they did not use it. They used my equipment. They were inefficient and slow. Did not place furniture as promised. Left huge ***** of tape everywhere. They left me with a mess and an empty bank account.Review from Laura H

This is a terrible company, who doesn't care about the customer. I recently moved and had to get a uhaul to finish my move due to their incapable skills of loading. They wanted to charge 3 times the amount quoted and items were damaged. Do not use them.Review from Gary G

Moda Moving is the most dishonest, unethical, and incompetent company I have ever dealt with in my entire life.*We filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, ****** ********** of ******** FTC, FMCSA ********************************************* ATA ******************************** and ******************************** because so they were so unethical and incompetent.*Four of our biggest complaints were:*Item #1 Moda Moving relocation consultant that came to our home knowingly and deliberately deceived us.*Item #2 Moda Moving was negligent in moving our household items in a timely manner.*Item #3 Moda Moving was negligent in the handling our items multiple times and storing in a warehouse for two weeks, which resulted in numerous damaged and missing items.*Item #4 Moda Moving did not respond to phone calls for status of our move as well as our complaints.*Beware of this company. There are masters at "bait and switch". *It took us six months and countless emails, forms, communications, before we got $1500 back from their parent company, ***** ******** *** *****. However we lost much more than due to the "bait and switch" tactics they used and items lost/damaged that we didn't get reimbursed for, due to our items being loaded/unloaded multiple times and stored in a warehouse.*I never did get my 16' extension ladder. I honestly think they stole it, and it's sitting in the warehouse in ***********.*And beware, the movers I had were not "professional movers". They were kids out of high school and dumber than a *****. Didn't even know to turn my leather chair 90 degrees so it would fit through the door.*The saddest part is Moda touts their company as a Veteran owned, veteran operated company. Do not fall for that schtick. Veterans have a code of conduct. They have honesty and integrity. If Moda is indeed a Veteran owned, veteran operated company, I speculate that all of them were dishonorably discharged.Review from MARY BETH M.

I requested an early start, expecting the movers to show up between 0800-0830. It was a holiday weekend, so I wanted to start early and chose a 3-person crew. When no one arrived by ****, I called the office. I was sent to vm the first 2x and got through to someone the 3rd time. He told me there was an arrival window of 0800-1000 and the crew should be there any minute. At ****, I got a call from the crew. They told me they would be there between 30 and 40 min. I let them know this arrival time was a lot later than I expected. They arrived at ****, 2+ later hours than expected and past the arrival window'. For 45 minutes, 1 crew member took inventory. The other 2 wrapped my mattresses and returned to the truck. After completing inventory, I was given a quote of approx. $1200 for an ~5-hour move. Ive moved every year since 2014 and this is semi-accurate (i.e.: 2 hours to load, 1.5 hours to unload, + travel time.) The loading was on the same level. Unloading was one level up. The first box was loaded at ****. The crew completed loading at ****. They arrived at the new location at **** and requoted me a price of ~$2000. They unloaded and were complete at ****. I would never use this company again. 1) The movers arrived late when I specifically requested an early arrival. This request was on my paperwork and ignored. The crew said they were assigned warehouse duties in the morning and that was the reason for their late arrival. 2) Spent my money taking inventory that was unnecessary. At a minimum, the other two movers could have been loading the truck as the first mover took inventory. I paid for a 3-person crew, where 2 people did almost nothing for 45 min. 3) Because of the late arrival in the morning, the moving crew was stuck in traffic on Friday before a holiday. This was the specific reason I asked for an early morning start and was preventable. This cost me almost an additional $800. Huge waste of my time and money.Review from Ciara W.

Moda Moving is a company that will lie and cheat you out of your money. The first issue started with them being late to pick up the furniture, we tried to cancel but got a call from management explaining the tardiness and asked if we would reconsider canceling, we asked if we can get free storage (only storing for 2 days and they were going to charge over $200), they agreed. Movers were nice and professional (took 45 min). When payment was requested they said they had a 3hr minimum, this was the first time we had heard this (we were never quoted but told it was billed in 15min increments, nothing about minimums). We received a call from another manager stating the mover was incorrect and that the charge for that area was a 2hr minimum, we expressed that we were never told a minimum and that seemed unfair. He stated they would listen to the recording and review. Meanwhile we notice the movers forgot two of the biggest items. When we called the office, they said they would call back tomorrow to deal with it. After calling as soon as they opened the next morning, we were told they probably wont pick it up today and to ask our landlord if we can leave the items in the apartment for a couple more days. I called back to get a plan just in case our landlord refused. The manager proceeded to say I was threatening him when I said they needed to get these items we paid them to take. After a bit of back and forth he decides to tell me they reviewed the recording from earlier and agreed the salesperson did not articulate enough about their minimums and for that reason they would be willing to only charge us 2 hours for the pick up and 2 hours for the drop off. They delivered our items 8 hours after the time they said and charged us for 3hrs instead of 2. We called the office and were told they would send a refund form for us to sign, after not getting that we called again and were told they wont send us anything. Movers were great, management are scam artists.Review from Philip M

My experience with Moda Moving started out great but then deteriorated into a horrible outcome. The crew that came to pack up our things and load them on the trucks were very professional, efficient, and pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, we had to have them store our household belongings for 2 months while our new house was being completed. I don't know what system they use to store their customers' belongings, if any, but it appears they are either inept or extremely disorganized. To begin with, they delivered our things to our new house on two trucks on two separate days (which they failed to inform us about). In the first delivery, they tried to off-load a couch and a mattress that did not belong to us, and we had to send them back. In the second delivery, they off-loaded several items that were not ours, but we did not catch it until they were gone. I informed Moda within a couple of days after our discovery, but they didn't bother to retrieve them for months. (I can only assume that someone else missed them but Moda couldn't be bothered with returning them to the rightful owners.) We had a glass-top patio table that was broken in the storage unit (the truck driver informed us). The movers broke my office desk when moving it in and tried to hide it. I only discovered it after they had left. And then the most frustrating and aggravating thing was that several things were lost between the time they were stored and the time they were delivered. I have made many phone calls and emails to them and have felt like I was continually getting the brush-off. I often got no response at all from my emails. With the phone calls I kept hearing excuses (like "We've been really slammed lately.") or promises that "we'll look for them" but then don't hear back and are given no indication that they have even started looking. They have finally located 3 of our lost items but nothing else. Some of the items (like a large wardrobe box) would seemingly be hard to lose.Review from Jhuma C

Giving one star only because lower is not an option Moved out of ****** and have had our belongings in storage since 07/2021 1. original quote of moving cost not honored 2. provided no inventory of our items moved into storage 3. multiple emails unreturned, escalated to phone calls with complaints and finally BOL provided only with weight still no inventory 4. notified them we are moving our items now cross country over a week ago to confirm a date and process for which we received the following email "So there will be some cost for us to pull the shipment out of the storage vaults and stage it. I will look tomorrow to find out how many lbs combined between the two individual shipments we collected from you, our crew will pull it out and check against the inventory and unwrap everything for them to load the day of loading."What a bunch of bull***. You don't have an inventory remember and our moving companies response "Im not sure I understand the email correspondence with Moda Moving. Unless the items are in a facility that does not allow access to their units it would not be required for them to bring the items out, to stage for us. Typically, we would arrive and complete all the loading/unloading directly from the units into our truck. I would NOT have them unwrap the items as they take out of the unit if they do so we would have to re-wrap and pack the items again and you would be charged accordingly."Still haven't heard back from them. My husband will be flying cross country on day of moving to make sure our items are all recovered, that's how much we trust them. Wish us luck and in the meantime I am warning you don't use them!
