Wish I had read the reviews of this company before hiring them. We were overcharged at least $1000 for installing a new irrigation controller. Found out after the work was done that the new controller was not operating correctly. Then found out that we had been overcharged around $800 for the new part and for other unlisted "parts." We plan to file a complaint with the ****** Landscape ***************** and may also proceed to Small Claims Court if this is not resolved satsifactorily by the company. Also, we have discovered that this company had been sued by the *************** several years ago for overcharging seniors, and that there are numerous other consumers who have had similar experiences with this company. This company should not be in business. Beware!Al Sievers Landscape & Sprinkler Service Response

I informed ******************************* our coming out charges and the part cost of a new Rain Bird controller over the phone before going to his property. He called me out because he needed a new controller. Before installing ************ Bird controller he signed and dated accepting the part cost. I tested the Rain Bird controller after installation with ******************************** It tested all okay and worked perfectly. He paid me and I left.
He never notified me it was not working.
I always inform my customers of my charges before any work is performed. They can accept or decline. ******************************* accepted.
Addressing the other issue he raised about the *************** suing my company. A trial ended with a Jury rendering a Not Guilty Verdict. I was completely EXONERATED of any wrong doing. ******************************* was being disingenuous by stating part of what happened and leaving out the conclusion.
Thank you,

In his reply to this complaint, Mr. ********************** is avoiding the real issue. He charged me $995 for a part that retails for $175. I have also subsequently discovered that contractors can buy this part for even less than $175. If I had not signed the invoice at the time of installation we would not have had the repair done. By that time Mr. ********************** had already charged me $345 just to show up. So I really had no choice, and I trusted him to tell me the truth about costs. He also charged me an additional $185 for unnamed "parts." He claims I did not notify him that the controller wasn't working properly. This is not true. He returned my previous phone call on May, 24, 2023, and I told him I had confirmed with the controller's tech support line that the controller wasn't working properly. He told me I could pay him (again) to come out and look at it. I declined for obvious reasons. Subsequently, another contractor has come out and fixed the problem (incorrect wiring) in less than 5 minutes. As for the court case, I could only find information online about the lawsuit being filed. I could find no information about the outcome, so I had no way of reporting it. Numerous negative reviews on **** and Yelp show that Mr. ********************** has a pattern of overcharging customers. Many people have published their negative experiences with this company over a period of several years. Anyone, can access these reviews to see the truth.Review from Colin L

I called Al to come look at my valve box for my sprinkler system- What I got out of the visit was him telling me HOW MUCH HE KNEW, HOW GREAT OF A TEACHER he is, HOW GREAT OF A BACKFLOW DEVICE TECHNICIAN he was, etc, etc and the whole time charging me $120 per hour to waste my time! He spent a total of 1.5 hours here and nothing got repaired. But he did give me an insane bid of $5,400 to replace one valve box and $7,000 to replace the master backflow valve and box, the second of which which isn't even the problem!Lastly, in telling him I wanted to pay him for his time, he ended up charging me $390 for nothing done- INCLUDING $35 FOR SUPPLIES!! When I asked him what supplies he said THAT WAS FOR HIS KNEE PAD AND FLASHLIGHT!!This is the grossest example of incompetence, and customer rip-off I have ever seen.I just wish I would have read up on him. I am going to contest the charge and go to small claims if I have to. DO NOT HIRE HIM!!Al Sievers Landscape & Sprinkler Service Response

My response is: You should not hire me unless you are interested in hiring a contractor that has been in the business for over 45 years and brings that experience with him. Do you want someone that can not show you how to operate the new equipment that he is recommending he install. Do you want a contractor that is not a great sprinkler technician? I am proud of the work I do and I do a great job. I have many satisfied customers that will confirm what I am saying. The hour and a half spent at Mr. ** home was inspecting his equipment to assess if it could be repaired or needed to be replaced. His valves were entangled in large roots and would require a great deal of work to remove them before any replacement of his devices could be accomplished. I gave him a bid and he rejected it. I told him before scheduling an appointment that I charged $250 minimum for the first hour and $120 an hour there after plus parts supplies and test equipment. He agreed over the phone and signed that agreement upon arrival before any work was preformed. Thank you,Al Sievers Sprinkler ServiceLicensed Bonded and InsuredCustomer Response

You are running a con as evidenced by your 33 bad reviewsyou charge outrageous prices to show up and you rack up the charges by your endless chatter about how much you know. Then you charge $35 for the pad that you kneel on and for the flashlight you turned on. Disgraceful. Good news travels fast, but bad news travels faster. You remember that.Al Sievers Landscape & Sprinkler Service Response

No one likes negative reviews. I, like every business, wants none. That is unrealistic. I am heartened to report I have thousands of satisfied, happy and return customers.Al Sievers Landscape & Sprinkler Service Response
