My girlfriend got a studio from them and the place was very disgusting, smelled like cigarettes, the price was definitely not worth it. I knew this company would be s*** Her sink clogged up multiple times and their so called maintenance guys came over and just made it worse. Their work was a joke. Definitely seems like they watch 5 minute crafts or some s*** The shower wall was leaking and cracking and maintenance came over and saw it and they told her that they would fix it we never saw them again. The neighbors were very noisy and always fighting. After her lease was up they charged her for bulk items in the trash. We have pictures to prove that nothing was bulky. Not to mention that the neighbors would leave mattresses, tvs, shelves, and animal cages outside the bins. Multiple people lived in the same housing unit. So my question is how would they know that it was her trash left out? They definitely will try and take your money. She made sure that all requirements were met before moving out like patching holes in walls, paying out of pocket for a F****** STEAM CLEANER. Even though the carpet was f****** disgusting to begin with so the carpet steaming would make no difference. Stay away from this company. In conclusion their maintenance staff is a f****** joke and their work looks like a 5 year old did it, they will take your money however they can, the prices for the homes are not worth it.

Charged us $800 for bedbugs when we never had any!!

DBD Homes uses a pest control company that goes into every property after a move out so that each property is cleared of all pests when a new tenant moves in.  They found bed bugs in the property this tenant was in.  She was charged appropriately according to her lease.

Better hope you dont need maintenance! It doesnt matter if your ceiling is falling or your air conditioning is broken and its 100 Itll be a month before you see maintenance!! They do not care about their tenants. And how is it I have washer/dryer hookups but not allowed a washer and dryer?

Hello!  There is a process involved with every work order.  DBD receives the work order, a contractor is then called to get a quote on the issue, the owner is then contacted and they make the decision to do the work.  The work order for no ac was submitted the 22nd of july which was a saturday.  The contractor was called on  monday and the work was completed on the ac unit on the 28th. Which was a asap turn around as every hvac company is a week to 2 weeks out right now.  Just to be clear, AC is NOT an emergency in the ****************.  This exact reason is why we have a $200. clause in our leases so that the tenant has the right to purchase a window air unit and get reimbursed up to 200.  As i was in lowes this morning and looked at the air units specifically I know they have them in stock right now for under $ 200.  Problem would have been solved with no issues.   Especially if this tenant has breathing issues, why wouldnt you want to at least try and help yourself?   As for the washer/dryer issue, there are on site laundry facilities and any tenant is welcome to purchase their own washer/dryer and keep in their apartment should they choose to do so.  Both of these issues could have been solved by the tenant very easily.  Its a choice to help yourself, no more no less.  Thank you!

These people are so unprofessional I unfortunately had to go through them for my house because my private landlord sold his homes and I have had nothing but problems ever since. They ended up illegally evicting me and my kids not only did they do that but cherry the manager thought it was funny that they went in and took all my stuff which is illegal and even if it was after the date that it was no longer mine they still are supposed to hold your items for up to 14 days they illegally change my locks before the agreed date that we signed on in court. ****** is by far the most unprofessional unsympathetic liar I have ever dealt with. I don't know how these people still have any business. I would give zero stars if I could.

First and foremost this tenant came with the property when an owner purchased.  DBD did not vet nor approve this tenant and she is currently under eviction.  *** utilities shut off as of april .  According to lease that is in default and abandonment.  The property was taken over.  As this tenant has been so abusive in her language she is under a "in writing only" policy.  She has a key to the property but still continues the harassment.  For more accurate information please visit.....mycase.in.gov  Cannot comment further as its an ongoing case.  Thank you!

Poor excuse for a rental property company. S*** hole apts with structural damage. My daughter called several times yesterday to get some help. Her kitchen ceiling started leaking and CAVED IN! Not one person from this company did anything to help. My grandbabies could have been injured or killed! This company is a SLUMLORD and the owner deserves his spot in HELL!

I was retaliated against for putting in maintenance request complaints. I recieved a lease non renewal for a reason they never gave me. But the property owner was hinting that she was using a legal reason to hide the illegal reason for non renewal of my lease. Not only that she falsified the amount of late payments I had as well as waived late fees she never took off my account but she tried to make it seem like if she didn't help with these things then I would of accrued way more late fees than what I had...had she not waived some of them for me. So I go to my account ledger and I literally only see 1 late fee waived and I asked the manager, Cherri (is her name) to confirm those exact late months to me and got no answer back from her. (Typical when you get caught making up false statements). But meanwhile my neighbors of a different race told me they are late EVERY month on rent and have been allowed to renew their lease. (Mind you) me and my neighbors are both similarly situated as far as making a late rent payment. And honestly I'm not sure exactly who DBD thinks they are but no one is going to talk to me any kind of way and not get talked back to the same way. I am your tenant. Not your doormat. And for some other odd reason DBD thinks I'm going to pay rent each month and not expect them to fix things when it's needed. Sorry but I don't pay just to live somewhere that's inhabitable. 3 times I had a gas leak from my furnace at this residence when DBD's maintenance technicians told me it was "perfectly fine" to use my furnace but NIPSCO came out and said otherwise and shut the furnace off and red tagged it. And not to mention when I moved in there was NO thorough inspection done by DBD Homes...the furnace filter was extremely filthy!

Unprofessional Slumlords that employ complete incompetent uneducated sole less humans that are basically getting paid to do nothing. Employees are useless. Zero ownership and complacent lazy company. Money is the only motivation to exist as a company. No empathy or care for tenants. Worst company Ive ever dealt with. Company should be legally shot down. They provide no service to the community.

Due to hostile attitude and pay history this tenant was given a non renewal.

      Customer Response

      06/13/2022

Any tenant would be hostile if they had to deal with endless rudeness or people who are suppose to help being nonchalant. about everything cause all yall care about is the money and charging people for things that were in a bad state on arrival. Ive paid on time and when I did not I paid when I said I would. I have a zero balance right now. Im sure me or anyone else will not take someone throwing anything at them like they are scum neither, I responded to disrespect and no being served properly in in situation or in counter with your company.

      Customer Response

      06/13/2022

Lets talk about how this is the second one in a 2 month period, I literally had to tell yall my business about why I wanted to go month to month for yall to take the non-renewal back all because I didnt want to say another one. The second non-renewal is in retaliation from me not taking your staff throwing my stub part back at me for asking for the proper chains of command to be done since I was denied the access of getting a receipt out the company receipt book.

My husband has been trying since the summer of 2021 to get a new garage door and opener installed and a front hand railing for the stairs. The est. was done for the door but now he is getting the run around from everybody at DBD. He has even been told the owner of the property is not getting back with an approval. They have raised rent almost $300 since 2016 and yet the money paid does nothing to fix the property. It's easy to find the ownerr of the property or we will just call the housing authority and have them do a full house inspection. It's unfortunate because it is a beautiful house and we love it. Just don't love DBD.

      DBD Homes Response

      02/09/2022

Unfortunately the concerns of the tenant have been addressed. The tenant isnt happy with the response. Which is understandable. The garage door works, the opener needs replaced, its not part of the lease therefore the tenant is welcome to replace the opener should they choose to do so. DBD then pays for installation. On the hand rail situation..this home has concrete handrails going up the front stairs in two places. That is code compliant. All other issues for this tenant have been complied with. All tenants also have up to $200. built into their lease that they would be reimbursed for work performed.
