            I was refused a root canal procedure because I would not agree to their demand to do a full bite wing series of xrays. I have filed a complaint with the ******* ******************* in **********. Have not received results. One of the caveats is "callous indifference" to addressing a patient's needs. Although I explained my family dentist takes care of my dental needs and he was the one that made the appointment for a root canal only they still denied me medical attention. I explained that the only xrays I desired would be the ones necessary to address only the one tooth. The lady in the office said they might find future issues with the full bite wing. I explained, again, that my family dentist in Athens takes care of my dental needs. I anxiously await the Board's determination. This is, indeed, callous and indifference to allow me to leave with a tooth in need of immediate attention.

            Patient came to our office, and refused CT scan. We tried to explain to him that our standard of care in our office is take CT scans on every patient prior to doing a root canal. We certainly did not ask for a full series of bitewing xrays. Several xrays have to be performed during the procedure to measure the root canal length and such. Our office never declined medical attention. The patient refused to follow the standard of care we provide in our office. He stormed out refusing any treatment. He never went to an operatory to begin to start treatment. This patient was in a year ago! I am unsure why this review is just being submitted.
