I was a Davis Gas customer for over four years, I had my tank filled app. every six months. On December 8, 2023 I arranged for a delivery. I was not home when they arrived in late afternoon. My boyfriend and several others were there working in the yard. The driver looked at my tank, said it was too corroded to fill, he removed the data plate, and when questioned on why I was not informed on the previous visit, that my tank was at the end of its lifespan, said it was my responsibility to know and got back in his truck and left. The office said according to the register that I had enough gas to last until mid January to February leaving me enough time to arrange a new tank. I ran out before the new year. After the new tank was installed by another company, they said there was nothing wrong with the tank they dug up, but because the data plate was missing the tank was useless and no one could legally fill it. I use gas to heat my home, heat water and cook, they did nothing to help me get through the coldest weather of the year. I will never deal with Davis Gas again. PS, I only gave a star because I had to give a rating in order to leave my review.

Davis Gas has serviced the tank located at ********************** address since 2014, under the previous owner ********************. The tank is used for heater, water heater, cooking and pool heater. This is a tank that is owned by the homeowner and not Davis Gas. While ******************** owned the tank, it was well maintained and passed all inspections prior to all deliveries. Davis Gas is not responsible for any of the upkeep on customer/homeowner owned propane tanks. It is recommended that all tanks are cleaned out under the dome on a regular basis and that a bar probe test is done every 5 years. Once again, Davis Gas is not responsible to making sure these tasks are completed, it is the responsibility of the homeowner to ensure their tank is properly taken care of. When we attempted a delivery on December 15, 2023 to ********************** tank, we found the tank in poor condition and refused to fill it for safety reasons. The data plate had rusted off the tank because the dome had not been cleaned out in quite a while. The data plate was left inside the dome. Davis Gas never removed it from the tank. When I spoke with ******************, I explained why we could not fill her tank for safety reasons. I also explained that we could replace the tank and I sent her a quote, to which I never received a response. I also did a usage analysis where I averaged her usage for the last three years and let her know that she had enough gas to last until the end of January as long as she didn't use the pool heater. I told her that if she used the pool heater, she likely wouldn't have enough gas to last a week. If ****************** ran out of gas, I would assume it was because she used her pool heater against my recommendations for making the propane last as long as possible until she could make a decision on replacing the tank. We were also never informed that ****************** ran out of gas. The last correspondence I had with ****************** was speaking with her over the phone regarding the condition of her tank and then the email I sent later that morning for a new tank or rental tank.

Don't waste your hard earned money on this rude and incompetent company! Their office knows nothing of being accountable and responsible and will only feed you lies. I have had numerous interactions with businesses and citizens in my career as a ******* Certified Building Inspector and Fire Inspector for ten years at the *******************, a Building Official for *********, ******* and a Building Inspector/Plans Examiner for ****** County *******. Their office staff is abrasive, abusive and belligerent. The staff put the "owner" themselves on the phone who screamed at my wife over our speaker phone. There's an old saying; the customer is always right!, especially when they're paying the bill. Do yourself a favor, people and steer clear of this place, NO one should have to be treated so disrespectfully!

      Davis Gas Company Response

********************************* has an account with our company that began April 28th, 2021. In October of 2022, ************************ requested to have a service technician come to her home to check the operation of gas logs. That appointment was made for October 21st. When we called ********************** the morning of the 21st, she told us she was unavailable and that the appointment was suppose to be on the 28th. We told ********************** that was not the date that we had scheduled. Upon hearing this, ************************ began to get upset. We in turn told her that we would attempt to squeeze the service call in on the 28th but could not guarantee that we would be able to work it into our schedule with other work that was already scheduled. When the 28th arrived, we unfortunately were not able to squeeze **************************** service request in with the work already scheduled. ************************ called to question where the service technician was later that day and was informed that we were unable to get to her given the prior work that was schedule, so we offered to schedule for another date. By this point, ************************ was extremely upset and yelling at my receptionist. The receptionist put her on hold and I then spoke with ************************. I can only describe **************************** as extremely irate. I had a hard time just trying to speak with ************************ yelling over top of me. It's hard to understand why ************************ was so irate over a scheduling mishap; whether it was our mistake or her mistake. With her yelling and so irate, I was able to get any type of remedy to the situation. In fact, the conversation ended with ************************ telling me that she would find another provider and then hanging up. The scenario ****************** describes is not at all what happened from our view point. Calling our office staff 'abrasive, abusive and belligerent' is not at all accurate for this specific incident nor any other incident we've had with any of our customers. I would also be concerned with bringing up how many different positions ****************** has had with different cities and communities. Nothing we have done and nothing Mr. ******* has described in his complain have been illegal, so bringing up his positions as former building inspector, fire inspector, building official, etc... is pointless unless he's trying to say that we've done something illegal, which we have not. From our stand point, everything was reversed with the screaming, abrasive, abusive and belligerent behavior coming from ************************.
