I took a **** ****** ***** to this business for repairs. The car had been sitting up for three years. We paid almost $2,700. for replacement of both control arms, ball joints plus new tires and a few small repairs. Driving home was a harrowing experience as the steering felt very unsafe and I had to drive with windows down because of exhaust fumes. The next day - a Friday afternoon - we got the car registered. Called the shop Monday morning to explain problems the car was still having. Took the car in again. Was told that it needed a joint replacement on the steering column and that he would fix the exhaust. Agreed to repair. Car at shop over two weeks. I asked to be able to see the vehicle up on the lift when I came to pick it up and to test drive before paying. Called to let the shop know my specific arrival time but all bays were full and I wasn’t able to see underneath. I got resistance on the test drive too but **** the tech finally decided he had time to accompany me. Fumes were still excessive. When another tech ***** asked **** what the problem was, I was told by ***** that “Someone should have told you it’s going to take $5,000. to $10,000. to fix this car “ and how he had told **** to inform me that the entire exhaust system needed replacing and the shocks were seized up. I could have made a more informed choice and not paid for two “patches” on the exhaust if I’d been told the truth. I ended up paying $1069. for the second repair and drove away with no solution offered except to pay a few thousand more to replace the exhaust and shocks. We declined. I feel like we paid for needless repairs initially (control arms) and were not dealt with in an honest, professional manner. I specifically told **** that this car needs to be safe enough to transport my four year old granddaughter. It is not. Even with windows down you can’t escape exhaust fumes. This business specifically stated on their website a good standing with BBB and “honest” dealings.
