*** the owner is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with. This man has no ability to apologize or sympathize with customers. He was in the wrong then tried to charge us for it. After discussing it with him at first he agreed to waive the fee. Then months later sends a bill, years go by and then sends another bill, 4 years after he sends another bill! We had a bug contract with them, what he used to put down was fine. The time in question him or one of his guys used an obscene amount of some granule bug stuff instead of the spray in my backyard and porch. I got home and notice that after letting my dog out his eyes were closed and watering really bad. I took him to the vet, she asked about anything new is his environment. Of course, i remembered they just came out. Looked around and notice all the granules everywhere, had to sweep them all up and wash as much off the grass as we could. After hundreds of dollars ?? in vet bills, I called and asked about the chemical, read about its harm to pets. He knew we had pets, we complained and cancelled the contract. Jon agreed to not charge for the treatment and canceled the service with attitude. I even sent him the vet bills. This was in 2019. After months of nothing we get a letter about the bill, have to have another conversation with him. He argues and is so rude. Then we hear nothing till 2022. Call again and the guy was so rude and cussed at us on the phone. Now got another letter in 2023. What the heck! This is the worst business ethic I’ve seen. Harassment, never let him talk you into a contract! This was a $*** service, the bill now says we owe him $****! I’ll be talking to my lawyer tomorrow!!!Review from Mary Margaret T.

I signed a 1-year contract with the owner back in 2015. I stumbled into some hard times in 2017 and was moving from my location. I only spoke with the owner and made an arrangement to pay something to him to avoid adding his company into my bankruptcy filing. I have moved from the service location in 2017 and have never spoken to the owner since. I recently received a collection statement from the company saying I owe ********* The owner or his administration department never contacted me during this whole time I've been living at another location. When the owner came out he would text me or call to let me know and suddenly I didn't receive any type of notification. The company is against the customer. The service supposedly conducted was between XXXX-XXXX when it was clear about my cancelation. I was passed the 1-year mark and never signed any other contract. His service for me was month to month at the time. I explained I was filing for bankruptcy and if he wanted me to avoid filing his invoice I could make a ****** pay towards the ****** I owed at the time. He agreed to the term and was supposed to cancel my service. I know he will write back some type of nonsense about the canceling process or he doesn't recall any type of notion of our last conversation, but why would he stop contacting me when coming out so he could come into the house to spray and why no notification was received once it went to collections? My address changed not my phone number. Terrible company and a fraud. How do you bill somebody for that long when the client is not there to discuss what you did or if I had any other pest issues for 5 years.Review from John R

Look elsewhere for your pest control services. Owner is incredibly rude, unprofessional and utilizes shady sales tactics. Signed a one year agreement with an understanding that my family was planning on moving within the contract timeframe (still within the same city). They verbally reassured me that it was no problem they would just transfer the services to the new house (with an upcharge to the monthly fee since the home was larger) to finish out the contract. This seemed reasonable and I agreed to sign on for the year.
Time comes to transfer the services to the new house and they attempt to tell me I have to sign an extended 3 year contract. I told them there is no way I would do that and it then dropped to 2 year and eventually an option to pay ANTOHER **** initial start up fee for the new house and restart a one year contract. I am now forced to pay **** to cancel the agreement (otherwise the owner threatened to send to collections/court). Terrible way to conduct business, the worst business interaction I've ever encountered.Bug-Masters, LLC Response

The customer signed up for a one year agreement on August 30, 2021. The customer was given options at time of signing the agreement. No discounts are offered on one year contracts. If a two year contract is signed, the start up fee is discounted. The customer opted for the one year contract. In January 2022, the customer contacted our office, notified us that he would be moving. He inquired about options in transferring the service to his new home so that he would not default on his one year contract. Our contracts do not have a transfer clause, however, we are interested in keeping our customers and working with our customers by offering options to help them fulfill their contracts. Our office manager advised the customer that there were options to help him. She explained that he would need to sign a new agreement as we can not provide services without a signed contract on each property. He was in agreement and understood. She scheduled a time for the Owner of Bug Masters LLC to meet at the new property to inspect and assess the new property which is a lengthy process. The customer called and had to cancel as he had tested positive for COVID-19 and would reschedule at a later date. When customer called after his COVID, he spoke with the owner of Bug Masters LLC. The owner went over the options to take care of the new property and fulfill the first, actually dissolving the first contract. The customer was not happy with this as he wanted to just have the remaining services transferred to his new home to fulfill the contract and discontinue services. It was explained to him that we were not able to do that, an inspection and an assessment of the new home was needed to start up service. The new home was much bigger, which meant more time and more product would be involved. The owner of the company explained to the customer, in order for our company to provide service(s) in a new location, a new agreement is required to apply product. The customer said he would not sign a new contract. In trying to appease the customer, the owner of Bug Masters LLC offered three options, to help the customer. This was not what the customer wanted, he wanted the terms to be what he wanted only. We tried to offer him an opportunity to dissolve his present contract in a way that would work for both parties. It was the decision of the customer not to accept.Review from Mary Margaret T.

They came to my house on the eastern shore of va and did a crawlspace inspection. Charged me ****** for a 20 minute job, then convinced me to sign a 48 month contract. Im an old woman and i feel the tech who siad he didnt have time to explain the contract to me took advantage of me. Ive called about opting out and they were rude and threating with me over the phone. Wont even accept my call from my home number. Had to call from my cousins phone so they would pick upBug-Masters, LLC Response

Ruth ****** called our office and made an appointment for us to meet for August 20, 2021. We arrived at 10:08 am, we talked about her concerns with her home, we offered her our services, we went over our contract, which only takes ten minutes at most, however, we spent 40 minutes going over the contract with Mrs. ****** as she is elderly and we wanted to make sure she understood the contract completely. There was another female adult with Mrs. ****** while we were going over the contract, she felt comfortable with someone there listening as well. Mr. ****, the owner who explained the contract to Mrs. ******* asked her when he was finished "Before you sign this contract, do you have any questions, because I don't want you to sign anything unless you understand everything I've gone over?" Her reply was "No she had no questions" she understood, and she signed. She signed multiple times as her signature was not taking properly on the electronic device. Mr. **** told Mrs. ******* to make her feel more comfortable, he would not take payment from her until the work was completed and it met her satisfaction. Mrs. ****** did not have email capabilities, so Mr. **** told her he would print out a hard copy of the contract for her and personally drop it. This is something that we do not do, all contracts are sent by an email provided by the client, this was over and beyond our protocol. The contract was printed out for her, he arrived September 28th at her home and gave her the contract. She wanted him to stay and go over the contract again. He was not able to at that time, as he had another appointment to go to, however, Mr. **** said he could review it with her again on the day of the inspection (which she needed to set up), if she still had questions. Mrs. ****** set up the appointment November 1, 2021, for the inspection. Mr. **** and our Operations Manager arrived and performed a full inspection, this took 35 minutes - two men performed a complete and thorough inspection of her home. Pictures were taken of the problems and repairs needed. Mr. **** and our Operations Manager, met with Mrs. ******* directly after the inspection, reviewed the pictures, and the results of the inspection, recommending repairs needed to the home and the cost. She paid for the inspection and she would get back with us as to what she wanted to do. Bug Masters LLC did not hear back from Mrs. ****** until November 17, 2021. She had called during our company morning meeting. Her number was registering "Potential spam" so those calls were not taken during the meeting. After the meeting all calls were returned, even the potential spam calls, that is when we realized she had called our office during the meeting. We immediately called her back, a couple times, there was no answer. She did call our office back at 1:45 pm, that same day. She demanded to cancel and have her money returned; said she had another company come out to inspect for only *** and we were ripping her off. We explained to her, with our contract she has a one year retreat warranty, the other company did not offer her a warranty. We are sorry she is not happy with what she has signed up for. We have taken a great deal of time to help her with her property and explaining the contract. She had over a month to review the contract before the work was performed to get other estimates for her home and cancel with us if she chose to. She paid for the inspection on November 1st, the day the inspection was performed for her. She had no additional concerns or questions when we arrived or after the work was performed. We left the property and did not hear back from her until November 17th. At this point, the work has already been performed. We would have been able to release her from the contract BEFORE the work was performed and paid for. We treat all our customers equally with the same integrity, by following a fair and consistent protocol. Unfortunately, we are unable to cancel the contract for her.Review from William V

We had terrible problems with termites for three years running (2018 - 2020). Bug Masters assumed the contract with our previous person. They did a lot of work the other person did not do. Bug Master put in termites traps and put fluid in the ground all around the house. We have no more problems with termites since they did the extra work. We are very satisfied with their work.Review from sheila k

we've been in a never-ending three-year contract with this guy at the end of the contract we paid our final bill and send it in with a letter saying we no longer one in service now he's telling us that since we didn't get the letter certified we have to be in another year contract this is a never-ending continuous thing with bugmaster they are scam they do not want you to enter contract they want the consistent money coming in we are willing to pay them the one-year contract in advance but no longer what they Services we don't want them to return to our property this will not satisfy this company because they will continue to try to keep you into a contract this is a scam in our humble opinion.
