Please don’t get a car loan through this company they try to charge you soooo much interest it’s like your paying 3 times for the car loan.And don’t be going through anything if you have a hardship they will add on extra towards end of your loan,they find all kind of hidden clause, and if I have to will post every day they need to go out of business!!!!!!!!

I keep getting letters from this company and finally did some legwork. Not only do they not reveal who they are on their correspondence, but their 1-800 number has changed multiple times. I can renegotiate my own cc debt, thanks. Most creditors will offer a zero or low interest monthly payment plan in exchange for automated monthly payments and closed cards. It is what it is. I have considered debt relief but then the settlement write-off has to be added to income for the *** - another money grubbing entity.

Predatory lending at its best. Stay away from this lender they interest rate and they target minorities

Worst finance company I have worked with. Nobody answers the phone. I send email and they email me what is a good time to call. I can't take calls at work. Only after 4:30pm central time. The website never works and they acknowledge it and never fix it. They emailed me some guy's information from collections today. WTH. All I need is a form to update my new debit card. My payments are current never late. I have automatic payments set up. *******

Every time I make a tidewater payment the balance on the car gets higher they are fixing to get it back

They haven't been bad to deal with at all. They were the only ones who would let me drive off with the car I wanted when I needed it. I've had a perfect payment history until this month. I asked for a payment deferment and the friendly rep said I'd here back in 2 or 3 days. Literally 30 minutes later they called back and said no problem. They have reported my on time payment every month and really helped build my credit. They actually care about what they finance and work hard to make sure the consumer isn't paying for junk.

Beware they are total scammers an definitely predatory lenders by the grace of god I did not get involved with these people please read an don’t be like me a person with inside working knowledge of a auto dealership an research these people I was totally looking at price of vehicle because was marked down on there website an thousands less than comparable vehicles I could buy locally. So back story recently filed chapter 7 from some old debt from previous marriage that was about to go legal on me an garnish my wages so soon as I filed I started getting 3-5 offers a day from auto dealerships all over ohio then I received a pre approval credit card from Tidewater Financial an it sparked my interest because I figured if dealing with a finance company directly once approved would be able to look at vehicle in there network of dealers so once I called tidewater an spoke with there rep a Gentleman from Richmond ky called me Mr Bill (Billy ) ********* representing ***** ***** *** in Richmond Ky wanted some basic info an got approved for a vehicle that was listed very fairly at there dealership online after little negotiation to get a warranty included we struck a deal at the same or less than my payment of **** that I’m currently paying on vehicle I’m returning in my bankruptcy after driving 4 hrs each way to get there an price of vehicle changed payment went to **** an no money down went to I owe $**** in 30 days? So in reality no money do at signing very big difference so I immediately walked out of the flimflammers office told them good day hope this helps the less knowledgeable car buyers I totally knew better an got caught up on the great price offered online an was in hurry to buy

Was all good until I bought a used lemon. With no help from them at all. It's just about the money.

Please be aware this is predatory lending. You will not be able to refinance in a year, the interest rates will make the owed amount more than the vehicle is worth. You will get threating calls saying you are going to their collections department even if you are within the 10 days grace period as it was explained to me by their collections representative that is only to keep you from having late fees not stop collections reviews. They will make you feel like they can come take your car even if you have never had a late payment past that grace period and certainly never a 30 day late period. Please be wary of this company and how they deal with customers

Pretty surprised by the majority of these reviews. I'm coming up on my second year here in August of financing my vehicle through Tidewater and have not experienced any issues with them thus far. I had even fallen behind on my payment obligations and they have always worked with me. Key to that though is you must keep in contact with them and let them know what's going on with your current situation. They're not able to help if they have no clue what's going on. Communication is key and they are a sub prime lender so of course there will be more interest owed on your vehicle compared to if you were able to finance with a Prime lender originally. Overall I'm happy financing through Tidewater and would finance with them again if I had to down the road. They were there for me after I unfortunately had to file Chapter 7 Bankruptcy after everything that occurred early on with Covid. Thanks again Tidewater for giving me the chance to get into a good quality vehicle.
