I was pleasantly surprised with Worthy. I sent my mother's custom diamond ring which was appraised for $14K. After auction I was offered less than $2,5K with a reserve price of $6K. I was asked by **** if I wanted to change the reserve price and I did for $2,500 and it quickly sold it, but I confused the reserve price with the opening bid, being a novice. I told her I did not want to sell it for such a low price, so she stopped the sale for me. I was so impressed. They did send back my ring. I believe they are an ethical company although the diamond buyers want something for nothing. It works if you want a quick sale of a diamond. *** and **** were great!Worthy.com Response

Terrible experience using Worthy. Never use this company. They had ***** come to my hometown to pick up my rings with I sent with documentation on their classification and they requested that I sign a document that gives them approval to remove my diamonds. Within a few days I got an email that my rings would not "perform well" in auction and had me drive over an hour to a ***** store to pick them up. Not I have to go to a geologist to ensure my rings still have their diamonds intact. Horrible experience. Plus their phone number showed up as Scam and they disconnected it after I tried reaching them. Horrible company.Worthy.com Response

As part of our authentication process, our lab team completed an initial physical assessment of your jewelry after your package arrived at our office on February 16th. Unfortunately, it was determined that your items did not meet the minimum criteria for auction, primarily due to the clarity of the center diamond. You were informed of our team's determination as well as our request for you to confirm the shipment location for your jewelry's return that same day.
You were presented with the option to have your jewelry be shipped to an approved ***** location where it would be held securely until pickup or to have the jewelry shipped to you directly. Based on your selection to have the jewelry returned to *****, which was made on February 17th, a confirmation email of this selection was immediately sent and our team proceeded with final steps for the shipment. You were notified on February 19th that your jewelry had been shipped and you were provided with the ***** tracking information. As a courtesy, we also notified you on February 21st that your package was now ready to be picked up from the ***** location you previously confirmed.
If were not confident well be able to help reach a successful sale through our platform, well let you know right away. As a reminder your jewelry was promptly returned, and completely free of charge. Despite our best efforts, we recognize this experience did not go as expected and a member of our team will follow up with you directly to determine any remaining steps we can take to thoroughly resolve your concerns.

Worthy is a misleading business that unfairly takes advantage of the seller. They estimated an engagement ring for $2000 and at the end it sold only for $1500 minus their fees. They asked for the center diamond to be removed to create a 360-video and then they don't do the video. They respond slowly to emails or ignore them. After the ring sold, the money was supposed to be paid out within 3-5 days. Only after numerous follow *** the money was finally paid out after 10 days! Their excuse was that it was an oversight. Overall the process was very confusing and how things were handled was unprofessional. I can't recommend Worthy.com. I am sure there are other more reputable companies out there.Worthy.com Response

In light of the concerns expressed, we'll focus on taking any remaining steps with you directly to ensure they are appropriately addressed.
As a reminder, you were notified the payment for your sale was issued on February 1st, 6 business days after the sale was finalized on January 24th. Normally payments are issued within 5 business days from the sale date and we regret any concern or frustration that was created by the delay.
The estimation range of $1,500 to $2,000 you were provided with on January 11th, **** was before the in-person evaluation our expert gemologists conducted several days later, once all auction preparations were completed. Your 2022 *** grading report was compared with current market trends for jewelry of comparable quality and characteristics and based on our team's assessment, a recommended reserve price was presented to you at that time.
After confirming your approval to unmount the center diamond for the 360 imaging, our photography team obtained the imaging as part of the steps taken to prepare your jewelry for auction. To clarify, the 360 imaging is visible to buyers who are viewing your auction.
As part of thoroughly resolving the outlined concerns with your experience, you can expect to hear from a member of our team on Monday. We look forward to clearing up any remaining confusion and improving your overall experience with our company.

Worthy was great and I would use them again. The only hiccup was the time it took for payment (they went over the estimated time and I had to reach out to them to get it rectified), but even then people were very communicative about the process. Overall, great experience!Worthy.com Response

We had a very good experience at every step of the way. We began by getting an offer from a local jeweler. Then we sent our diamond pendant to Worthy.com. After the appraisal step, their recommended reserve price (with 95% chance of success) was similar to the offer we already had, which would have meant that we would have netted less after commissions. Accordingly, we chose to set a higher reserve for the auction, so as to ensure a sale would net us a better price than we could get locally. The initial auction barely exceeded our reserve, but Worthy recommended extending the auction for an addition period in order to attract more bidding. Ultimately we were able to net a price (after commission) more than 30% higher than the local offer! The entire process was transparent and easy to understand, thanks to the attentiveness of ****** and her associates at Worthy, who answered all our questions along the way. We would not hesitate to use this company again or to recommend it to others.Worthy.com Response
