Kiwi Energy is one of the worst, deceitful, most predatory companies I've had the displeasure of working with in my life. I'd give them negative stars if I could.Please do not do business with this third party. As of April 16, 2021, per the *** ********** of Services website, an electricity ESCO (3rd party supplier) must provide a variable rate that guarantees a savings on an annual basis, or with greater frequency, and provide a credit to the utility account or refund if they exceed what you would have paid your incumbent utility."Kiwi Energy has gone out of their way to create several other plans, including the "guard plan", which offers credits on stuff that you'll never need in your life, but does not guarantee savings on your energy bill, as a loophole to avoid passing on any savings to customers and take as much of your money as possible.They have lied, coerced, and ignored complaints from us for 3 years, which has cost us thousands of extra dollars compared to had we just gone directly through RG&E. Our bills with them are so ridiculously high, it's not even funny, and always have been. When we requested a refund per the *** website, they denied it, saying we had signed for their "guard plan", which we had never been informed of or had explained to us, and they would not refund us. This is how they'll get you - like most greedy, disgusting corporations, they will add in clauses that they never tell you about or don't understand so they can s**** you over until you figure it out.Do not do business with this company. If their sales people show up at your door, slam the door in their face and run. If you're using a 3rd party supplier, make sure you compare the rates of all available 3rd parties to the direct supplier. If you work here, find a new job, cause you're just as disgusting as they are.We have canceled with them and I plan to put bad reviews for them anywhere and everywhere I can, in addition to filing a complaint with the BBB.Kiwi Energy NY LLC Response

Kiwi Energys electricity and gas supply service (Kiwi Guard) is one of the few products recognized by the ************** ************************** In this case, a verbal confirmation was given for all key points of service, including no savings guarantee. Came to my door while I wasn't home, acted like they were with AEP and asked my girlfriend to see my bill. They signed me up without my permission,and used my deposit money to pay my bill for two months and now my bill is more than twice as high as it should have been through AEP. This should be criminal. I'm going to seek legal action. It's the Holidays and I'm not paying these scammers when I want to give my girls a nice Christmas. I had seen them try this with my father before, but I had to threaten them with physical violence before they would leave the porch. Truly shameful to try to take money from old people like that and just as shameful to deceive my lady while I'm not home to step in.Kiwi Energy NY LLC Response

During this process, any enrollment will be automatically rejected if a customer does not agree, is unsure, or decides to change their mind. The *** process verifies all key service points, including a statement confirming no affiliation with the utility.At the point of sale, a welcome pack containing all the terms of service and a cancellation policy is either emailed or sent via SMS to the customer. Additionally, another printed copy is mailed to the customers address on file.We would appreciate the opportunity to learn more about your experience to assist in our review. What a joke! I live in ******* rural ********, and these cons from *** steal money. My RGE is never more than $80/month. These cons got me... come to my door about saving money and cutting costs, but it ended up with thousands of dollars being stolen with constant shut offs because a $1000/month we can't afford. When I called the first time to cancel they said it would take up to a billing cycle. Got another bill today with a f'ing Kiwi charge x2 and I was told it would take up to 1 to 2 billing cycles. Anyway I'm most likely going to be filing lawsuit for a full refund and then some! Zero stars from meKiwi Energy NY LLC Response

Just had a call, sounded legit. They were going to save me money on my gas and electric service they claim deliver energy for RGE. AS their representative quickly switched me to RGE to confirm they are a legit company, *** said I would have to talk to ******* from **** about that. The same time I had a bad feeling about this I looked them up and cancelled the call. The Kiwi rep called me right back, I told her they were scammers and she hung up.Beware folks, they are coming at us from all angles to rip us off!Kiwi Energy NY LLC Response

We monitor the activities of sales representatives for compliance with marketing standards and place great focus on consumer sales interactions. Sales representatives must Identify themselves as representing Kiwi Energy for each sale interaction. In addition, for a sale to be accepted a recorded Third-Party Verification (TPV) call must be completed where a customer must accept key points of service, including that Kiwi Energy offered (in this case) a variable rate product with no guaranteed savings. This TPV is designed to confirm the customers desire to enroll.These concerns are being forwarded immediately to our sales Managers. I was with *** for years and my electric bill started to go up . one day a person from KIWI Energy come to my house asked to see my electric bill he said that he could get my electric cheaper. with *** i was paying little more than 7 cense per kilowatt . he told me that he could get me down to 4 cense per kilowatt .so i said ok you get me down to for cense how long will that last .will it go up tomorrow next week next month . he said oh no we don't do that it will stay the same for a long time . so i said ok . i mean it was cheaper and he said it wouldn't go up for a long time . so we got all the paper work and then he was suppose to leave the premises because KIWI was going to call me and he wasn't suppose to be there . but he said that he would stay and help. he told me to tell them on the phone that he left but he never did he sat there and told me exactly what to say . yes at that point i should have known better but all i could see was the cheaper electric . I'm on fixt income so i just didn't think about it . well i got my first bill it was $490.00 so i called *** because everything go's through them to see what was going on .well they said that i mist my last bill so it was two months together .so asked why because i have autopay. then they said that i didn't have autopay and i said yes i do the money has ben taken from my bank account so they looked and i was right . so they said ok lets wait till next month . so i did . well the next month my bill was $500.03 so i called them back and asked what was going on . they cheeked and found out that KIWI was charging me almost 20 cense a kilowatt . i was not happy. why would i change electric company's and pay more . they just flat out lied to me and that is not right . so if KIWI nocks on your door my opinion tell them to take a hike !!!!!Review from Connie T

It was my understanding that I would be saving money having kiwi as my energy supplier. FALSE It cost me more money. My electric **** is now $700. I was told that I would receive the loyalty rate, which was high than Con ******* Do not listen to their lies it is a scam so that they can get customers and line their pockets.Review from Nicholas H

don't work with kiwi energy. a guy shows up at light and tells me he is from ******** **** and convinces me to become a member. so far after the contract I'm free. I paid a %30 Highter price for my energy and lost $1,000 to their scam. don't work with them I also feel that there should be a class class action lawsuit for misrepresentation and fraud.Review from Felecia R.

ZERO STARS! Person shows up at my door stating he works with the utility companies and tells me to show him my bills and that there's a charge that's listed that by changing the supplier (which I didn't know i was doing at the time) would save me money, up to 5% per **** but NEVER said it could go up. Then you have to make a verification call to this company or something of the sorts and he was literally telling me what to say. Well fast forward, I get all the paperwork in the mail and realize this is SHADDYYYY. Soni immediately call to cancel. Told it would be handled. Cool. Fast forward again, my past two bills are DOUBLE if not TRIPLE what they typically are. I pull my bills up (I'm paperless) and there's Kiwi, still listed! I sent an email to cancel and Shae (apparently a manager) calls me three times in a row while I'm at work soni finally answer all fir her tonhave an attitude with me, nit cancel themselves from my bills but give me a "loyalty rate" and a $40 rebate check. I get home 10 hours later, call ******** ****. I explained what was going on so he pulled up my accounts and immediately knew what was going on. He put a block on my accounts and told me Kiwi is charging 16 cents kwh I believe and they are currently 7 cents and National Fuel they're charging $1.06 and Fuel is 50 cents!!! I call Kiwi once again. Get another person who barely speaks English and it took me AN HOUR to get him to cancel Kiwi. I also asked for a supervisor. Magically none are available but will call me back. No call back 3 days later. I call back. Somehow get back to Shae. Mannnn was she rude. I finally got a supervisor **** who just kept repeating the same thing over and over and over again and basically told me even tho their sales people are shady and unethical, they can't find that I called 5 months ago so ***** to be me. How convenient for them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM EVERRRR.Review from Tristan S

Switching my gas and electric to Kiwi energy is the dumbest thing I have ever done. Kiwi energy charged me $1.09 per therm for my last **** (Nov. 9th- Dec10th) when ******** **** charged their costumers $0.56 per therm! My **** was $439 when it wouldve been $270 with national grid. My electric was also much higher priced at $0.12 per kWh when ******** **** was priced at $0.09 per kWh. I am legitimately nervous I wont be able to afford my December ****! Absolutely no one should ever switch their service to Kiwi Energy, I have canceled my service and will complain about this company and their scam prices to anyone that will listen. S**** you Kiwi Energy you have been a life ****** Ill never forget.Review from Christine B.

I thought i was signing up to save a few dollars on my ****. I didnt realize i was switching until the phone call, which the young man was coaching me through. At that point, i did not feel safe to tell him I didnt want to go through with the change. I called to cancel right away, but they couldnt give me any proof that I made the call to cancel. I hope the cancelation goes through because my **** is high enough and I cannot afford anything higher.
