When we signed the agreement to buy the trailer, with ****************************, I tried to get an interest rate and terms from Will, finance manager. He said hed have all of that when we came into sign. I let him know I would get financing with my credit union. He said we could just close with their financing and re-finance later. Not wanting any surprises, I tried calling his office for 3 days. He would never call me back. I finally got a call back from ****. He told me the terms were 8+% for 20 years. I decided to go with my credit unions financing instead at ****% for 10 years. When we walked in for our appointment the finance manager, ****, said, Oh, you got your own financing? We had everything in order. Yet Camping World Albuq refused to accept our credit unions funding letter, which stated the funds would be released as soon as Camping World gave the credit union letter stating that Camping World would be listing the credit union on the title as lien holder. Seemed logical, right? The ** wanted security for their loan proceeds.****, finance manager at Camping World said he had to have the actual check from the credit union. I called my credit union to see if I could pick up the check. They agreed, as long as I had the letter stating ** as lien holder. I told Camping World I would go pick up the check, but I needed the letter stating the credit union would be listed as lien holder. They said they didnt have a letter like that. My loan was fully funded and I had a cashiers check for my down payment. ($7500) The trailer was already hooked up to our truck.They refused to accept my loan financing and were forcing us to use their horrible financing or walk away. We chose to walk away. Now I know they get kick backs from the lenders they use. (per other RV dealership) Im not sure yet of the ramifications of having to cancel a fulling funded loan. Im sure my good credit will take a hit.
