0/5. Long story short I had a drunk driver go through my fence on 4th of July. Finally got the insurance pay out 6 months later and was recommended to this company by an acquaintance. He took the job and worked with me on the estimate, the project etc and everything was great. He asked us to check with the city about a permit, which I did initially find odd. Figured he'd be the one to do that but okay, sure. So my husband checked and the city, who is now giving us all kinds of push back, said that we didn't need a permit to replace an existing fence. But then the city came around and put a stop build, saying we did need a permit. The whole thing called into question property lines etc etc etc. So now basically the city is demanding that we push the fence back 1 ft and cut down a portion of it in the front to make it shorter. I figured if I paid he wouldn't be willing to help me fix it, which I felt unfair. I told him that I didn't think I should pay until we figured everything out with the city. That's when everything turned. He completely flipped a switch on me. A direct quote from his text message:"We did the work according to the contract I have nothing to do with the permit is***. I had a feeling you weren't going to pay. Ugh. I guess I need to get my attorney involved. And file a lein on your property and so on. Not to mention insurance fraud you got paid by your insurance. I have email correspondence from your insurance you leave no choice but to contact them."Wow. So in a split second he went from friendly and helpful to 1) threatening to *** me 2) threatening to try to take my property from me 3) threatening to accuse me of insurance fraud. I never said I wasn't going to pay. I said I wanted to get things figured out and things modified according to the city's standards before I paid. And he is claiming that it was my responsibility to know these things and yet HE. IS. THE. PROFESSIONAL. Be careful. Shady business in my opinion.

Hi my name is ***************** I am the 2nd Generation Owner of Payless Fence Co LLC est. in **** by my Father. We have been serving NM ever since. In response to ******************* review ; A clear and concise written contract was written by Payless Fence Co LLC, it was not only approved by *************** but also by her ************* We performed the work in accordance to the contract along with some change orders approved by *************** at her husband's request, the New fence was put back in the exact location as the old fence line and we completed the job. I requested payment so that I can pay my employees and my material costs on the job not to mention my overhead that I pay monthly to keep my business a float. I asked *************** for payment upon completion of the job and I started to get the run around from her. I have been in the business long enough to know when someone is not going to pay. I did advise her that she was leaving no choice to start the litigation process if payment was not made. She was mislead by the Municipal Officials originally so this why we proceeded with the job. I made contact with the Zoning Officials and they stated that they were working directly with ******************* husband on the matter due to the fact that the mapping systems in place were very old and they were waiting on the Survey Official to determine what needed to be done at the property. The Zoning Official also told be that a Permit was NOT needed initially and told me It was NOT my fault as the Contractor nor ******************* fault....why they are doing more research on this particular property in beyond me. Like I said we held up our end of the deal and we provided a nice fence with quality materials and workmanship and I all I expect is to be paid for a job well done. Her issue with the Municipal Authorities is still in litigation and I offered my help in the matter, but her text communication to me was very vulgar, abusive and dismissive. She also stated that she was going to ruin my business because of this.. She has copied and pasted this very same written allegation of my So Called Shady Business all over the internet. May I remind you that we have been in business for 41 years , My Business is full compliance with all our licenses, insurance, bonds, including the Municipality *************** lives in. I am sorry she had to go this route and I wish her the best of luck, but I can tell you that if she is using the same type of vulgar words she used in communication with me to the Zoning Officials she is not going to get very far.
