Our roof and solar panel system installed looks great and has certainly added value to our home. Of course we enjoy saving money on electric bills!Such a big project is daunting to average home owners like my wife and me. We started out knowing nothing about everything! After meeting with several companies that do these types of projects, we chose Whitman.One reason was that our research of various companies showed me that Whitman was one of the best; a long time in business with a sterling reputation. And local. A ** company rooted here, paying taxes here, hiring high quality professionals... right here. Well, that matters to us.What closed the deal -- rather, quite literally WHO -- is *****************************. There was no pressure. (What a relief after being talked at by others.) And he was so educational. We learned everything necessary to make an informed decision. No hype or empty promises. Along with ***********************, they gave me a solid deal.*************************** stayed on top of the many steps in our solar-electric project. The rest of the team are highly competent and treated us really well too. *****************************, *****************************, and ******* Whitman took care of a lot of stuff along the way.I don't know their full names, but good job by *** who oversaw roof project. He gave me a lot of tips and advice. Electricians ****** and **** not only did a great job, but also put a very positive face on Whitman.Review from Andrew M

installed 2 new roofs on ********** and backhouse plus 2 solar arrays, one on each building. all connected via trenching and conduit runs back to the main house. it was likely not the easiest job to coordinate, but they did a fantastic job. there were a few lingering supply chain delays (2023) with a couple solar items, but their delay estimates were spot on. my sales rep was as nice as can be, the planning coordination was excellent, the install crews were fast and friendly. they handled inspections and grid connectivity with zero problems. the system has been running for about 8 months with no problems or leaks. i see some grumpy reviews here and just wanted to offer my great experience thus far.Review from Matt G

Whitman tore off the 25 year old shingles on my roof, re-shingled the roof, and installed solar panels. They finished two days ago so I don't have long term results. For my experience so far, I heartily recommend them for roofing work and for solar work.Im very detail oriented and analytical. I asked a lot of questions during the sales and contract processes, and the installation scheduling. Whitman staff were patient in dealing with me. I think some communications improvement could have avoided some of my uncertainty and resulting questions.I spent over 20 years as a customer service operations and systems consultant. I have both very high service standards and a very high level of patience with service providers. The key for me was always to exceed the customers expectations. Whitman has done that. Im a completely satisfied customer (so far).The installation crew did a great job. Ive seen other roofing jobs in the neighborhood that get done in a day. Their crew essentially did the same, plus the solar panel installation. Communications with the team were always courteous and informative. When the crew was on their midday break, I went outside to walk around and gawk at the progress with virtually no expertise in what I was observing. I felt bad that the crew lead felt the need to come out of his vehicle to check in with me.The post installation cleanup was pretty thorough. That was a very important aspect to me as Im somewhat fastidious about the grounds. Im particular enough that I still cut my own lawn. I have no complaints about a broken clay *** that had a small dead tree in it. Im only slightly disappointed that a couple of perennial flowers that were just starting to grow were flattened, but thats not a big deal. They may recover this year and will most likely come back next year.

I used Whitman to install a solar shingles and new roof. The roof took longer due to labor issues, but all good there. The solar system itself worked well until this past summer where one of the power strings ceased producing power. Whitman has been non responsive and uses the business office receptionist (who has been wonderful) to run interference and delay. They are not honoring their warranty.
