HomeLend's unresponsiveness and lack of competency cost me $***** and wasted the entire due diligence period. They are very responsive until you sign the documents then they stop responding to phone calls and emails. No one in the company takes responsibility.Two of the loan officers quit their jobs throughout the process (probably a good career move). The third loan officer rarely responded to emails or phone calls. Over a two-week period, HomeLend failed to respond to more than 15 phone calls and 5 emails (during that period they did intermittently respond to 2 emails and 2 phone calls). It took more than two weeks for them to get an appraisal report, which came back as C5. The loan officer for some reason didn't know that his own company wouldn't finance a C5 condition home and told us we were good to go "with no repairs". So we spent ***** to extend the due diligence period and perform inspections. Two days later the loan officer sent another email and said a C5 condition home wouldn't be financed and that repairs were required. Unfortunately, it was two days too late. When I tried to get in contact with someone responsible for customer experience, I got looped back into an email with the same loan officer.I would steer clear of this company. Typically, if you send the rate one company offers you to another company, that company will try to match it. I would recommend looking for a local company with an actual office, that has employees who stay with the company for more than a week, and that doesn't rely on an appraisal management company. I really couldn't say enough about how much of a pain it was to work with HomeLend and to get any response from anyone, especially *********************.
