The Oticon app does not work well. It fails to stay connected to the hearing aids. Very frustrating. And the online "help or service" gets no response from Oticon. The hearing aids are very expensive so you would expect exceptional service. Not with Oticon.Review from james d

Senior citizen, with hearing problems of understanding others during conversational speech. Sold Hearing aids through a local provider. Went back to the local Audiologist provider 5 seperate times for adjustments to attempt to fine tune the devices and could not achieve anything close to what I hoped for. The devices only amplify my own speech, the sound of me breathing and the sound of my feet shuffling on the ground, all of which drowns out any improvement in understanding conversational speech of others.i have made several attempts to contact the distributor, **********************. Left 8 total Voice messages on their service with absolutely No replys. Contacted Oticon North America, with the reply that someone would be contacting me and they have Not.the hearing aids were partially financed with funds from Medicaare and the remainder was paid by me personally, these devices cost $6,000. The devices sit in their box unusable because in my opinion they are unusable and the company refuses to try to make adjustments so that they are usable. in their present state they are dangerous and provide me absolute no functionality.Review from Jeffrey G

My audiologist recommended Oticon Hearing aids just over 5 years ago. The cost was $5200 CAD.They performed well for the first year, then multiple issues began to occur -- muted sound, batteries not holding their charge, and the entire unit failing. Over a five year period, both the right and left hearing aid had to be sent into Oticon for repair three times each. In a fourth case, I accidentally damaged my right hearing aid and it was replaced. Each of the six times that maintenance or repair was required, I waited 3-4 weeks for the return of the single hearing aid. For the last repair, I had to pay close to $500 as the units were no longer under warranty. So over five years, I did not have a full set of ****** aids for close to 6 months.Just recently, the right hearing aid began to mute to the point it was no longer helpful to me, then it died. I spoke to my audiologist and they said: (1) Oticon hearing aids have a typical life span of 5 years; and (2) Oticon will not service any hearing aid over 5 years of age. The audiologist also said they no longer recommend Oticon hearing aids to their clients due to the number of issues they have had with them (apparently my experience in common).Review from Darshini B

I had purchased 2 Oticon ******* Machines in march 2021. I sent the devices for a casual service in April 2023 as I was in warranty period until October 2023 and my devices were in working condition. However, am told that the company has replaced the spare parts for both machines . Post servicing, the device is not performing as before and is not giving the benefit as before. I reached out to ***** office since it was purchased in ***** and am told ' devices are working fine and it's not our responsibility if you not getting the benefit now' . Then I reached out to the Headquarters in *******, and am told I will not get any assistance from them and they will ask Indian Team to help me. What kind of a response is this? I have paid in Lakhs for the devices and it's just not a mere *****. If Oticon does not want to resolve a problem created by them and instead creating more harm to its customers, then Oticon should not be there in the healthcare industry. Oticon should carry a sense of responsibility that their customers are patients who are already suffering from disabilities. If our concerns are not heard and resolved then, Oticon should stop claiming it to be amongst the Top most companies.Review from Richard R

I worked for NYCTA for 27 yrs. As a result I acquired hearing loss ( 23% in both ears). *** tried numerous brands of hearing aids until I settled for Oticon. At first, it was a match made in heaven. Then eventually after a couple of months the problems started to occur. First the connection was faulty. Next the batteries went dead. Then the hearing aid itself went dead and had to be traded out while I used a loaner. I am currently experiencing the latter yet again. I contacted the manufacturer after speaking at length w/ my provider. They informed me that the best course of action is directly w/ my optomologist. Im spending lots of time w/ my optomologist and it feels as though were just testing these aids and Im being used as a Guinea pig. I dont blame her in the least. Shes trying to accommodate me the best way she knows how. I would like to test something more efficient if possible. Thank you, kindly.Review from Robin B.

The Oticon hearing aids worked well until a bizarre situation with the company transpired. They stole my property! Near the end of my warranty my audiologist said the company offers a complimentary inspection of their hearing aids for any potential problems. I was happy with my hearing aids but thought I might as well let them look them over, so my audiologist sent them to Oticon for this offered service. Oticon returned my hearing aids to my audiologist but without my rechargeable batteries. They purposely kept my rechargeable batteries bc they discontinued them. But it was without my consent! I paid a lot for the rechargeable hearing aids and the batteries and the charging port. Now I have their hearing aids that are NOT rechargeable but thats what I paid a premium price for. Ive sent two emails asking them to return my property, refund my hearing aids or exchange mine for a comparable rechargeable model but still no reply.
