Salesman visited our home and made us uncomfortable d/t heavy pressure to purchase his product. He kept repeating " If you can't afford our tubs don't waste any more of your time or anyone else's time to come here". We felt this was very inappropriate and made us uncomfortable... He kept on pressuring us until we finally got him out of here....... Then called back when he was at the end of our driveway wanting to discuss other options!!!!!Safe Step Walk-In Tub Response

There is no doubt that Safesteptub is an excellent product but the process to purchase that product is seriously flawed. That flaw costs the customer thousands of dollars above the cost of the tub. The sales process needs to include an installer because the sales force has no clue what needs to be done to install the tub. This is especially true when the tub is being installed in a bathroom in a house that was built more than 70 years ago. My salesperson made it sound that the tub would slip in and cover what was there. That is simply a lie. She also gave me the impression that the installer would make adjustments to enable the tub to be installed. That is another lie. When the tub arrived with the installer, the first thing he said was, “I can’t install the tub.” Fortunately my contractor was here. He and the installer went over, in detail, what needed to be done to prepare. More than $7,000 in necessary prep work later, the tub was installed. Safesteptub gave me a $2,500 reduction in the cost of the tub. I was furious. $5,000 would have been acceptable. They took no responsibility for misleading me. Even the installer said that they should be involved in the sales process. The tub is now costing me more than $30,000. I’ll have a beautiful bathroom which would not have happened without my contractor and the installer coordinating their efforts. My advice is DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH SAFESTEPTUB UNLESS AN INSTALLER IS INCLUDED IN THE SALES PROCESS. You’ll be disappointed if you don’t and the entire process will cost much more than you planned to spend.Safe Step Walk-In Tub Response

We were surprised and disappointed to receive this complaint. We recently installed customer’s walk-in tub and received a signed completion certificate stating that the work was done in accordance with the contract and customer had no complaints or service requests. We have spoken to the installer and he stated that at no time did he make the statements attributed to him regarding our sales process. Instead, the statements were made by customer’s personal contractor. Additionally, installation on the first scheduled date was halted by the customer’s contractor and not our installer. We also disagree that any misrepresentations were made to customer at any time. The issue that arose here concerned the removal of a vanity and customer accepted a price reduction for such removal and agreed to the installation. Customer stated in an email to us that he contributed to the misunderstanding. We have been responsive at all times to this customer’s concerns.Review from Sherry G

I am glad I got this tub 8 years ago. I had broken my right hip. The next year I fell & broke the left one. Unstable in the shower, this tub was right for me to bathe safely. It still works just fine after 8 years. I love itReview from Deborah M

KEVIN B**** IS THE MOST UNHELPFUL SALES MANAGER I'VE EVER DEALT WITH! THIS TUB IS A HAZARD TO ME WITH ALL THE TROUBLE I'M HAVING WITH MY LEGS AND MY BACK, AND HE WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AT THE COMPANIES EXPENSE! I ALREADY SPENT 20K ON THIS USELESS TUB, SO NOW THEY REQUESTED THAT I SPEND ANOTHER 20K ON A WALK IN SHOWER INSTEAD! NO, NOT HAPPENING! I REQUESTED A MONETARY DISCOUNT BECAUSE OF MY ISSUES AND IT GOT IGNORED! DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE TUBS IF YOU'RE SHORT, HEAVIER AND HAVE BAD KNEES!!!Safe Step Walk-In Tub Response

We were disappointed to receive this review as it does not accurately reflect our history with this customer. The walk-in tub installation was on January 17, 2023. Our notes reflect that over 13 months later, on February 27, 2024, customer informed us that she wanted the walk-in tub removed because she didn’t like it. Customer stated that there was nothing wrong with the tub. We explained to customer that we did not do returns or refunds after installation. Customer subsequently called wanting to be paid the $1,600.00 discount we were currently advertising. We informed customer that we did not retroactively apply current discounts to past customers and that she had received all available discounts at the time of purchase. The first time we ever received any complaints about customer’s use of the tub was more than 13 months after installation. We offered to perform a service visit to review how she was using the tub and perform a tutorial, if needed. Customer refused our offer to perform a service visit. We have fulfilled the contract and all terms of customer’s warranty. While we are always regret when a customer is not 100% satisfied, we do not remove retroactively apply customer discounts.Review from Tasha B

So disappointed. We have had nothing but problems since installing a Safe Step walk in shower in February. The installers were more concerned with getting done in 6 hours than with doing it right. The doors were uneven causing water to leak. They failed to install a grab bar and the shower does not drain! The installers came back once to align the doors, but I have called several times to have the installers return to install the grab bar and repair the drain which was working properly with no issues prior to the install. Cannot seem to get a call back. Once they have your $$ good luck.Review from Vanessa C

Months ago, I sat with my mother in her living room, listening to a salesperson from your company. My mother was concerned about continually stepping into her tub for fear she would eventually fall. He immediately used that fear as the main selling point. My concern was the foundation of the home was concrete. Would there be issues with installation? He assured us there would not be issues with installation. Needless to say, we purchased the walk-in shower. After installation, my mother experienced problems with the tub draining. She complained, and a worker came out, installed another p-trap, and filled in the hole with pea gravel. She continues to have to plunge the shower midway through taking a shower. We have had the pipes checked for blockage and emptied the septic tank (even though it was unnecessary). The company has received multiple complaints from us with no resolution. Once the company got their money, they ignored us. The last contact I made was on February 12, 2024, the same day I video recorded the appearance of the pipes. The pipes slant away from the drain out of the house. I have never seen so many s and u curves in a section of PVC in a 2-square-foot area before (no wonder it does not drain properly). They told me they would respond within a week. I am still waiting for a response. I want the issue fixed for my mother's safety. I will not recommend this company to others. I advise elderly clients to beware.Safe Step Walk-In Tub Response

We purchased our tub and had it installed in July, 2023. The salesperson said that everything would be taken care of by the company, and promptly collected the 50% downpayment. When they completed the installation of the tub, and before we had passed the inspections required by the County, which were part of the purchase and installation process, the installer proceeded to collect the remaining 50% payment and we were left to deal with the inspections. The electrical contractor was onsite on the day of the inspection and everything went fine - we passed. However, the plumbing contractor was not onsite and when the inspector came he stated that the plans we had been sent to print and give to him were not correct. He asked that the contractor call him and provide the correct plans before 3 pm, but that never happened, so we failed the plumbing inspection. I spent from July 30th until February 15th trying to get the plumbing and final inspections passed and the permit closed. During these almost 7 months, the company was barely responsive to my emails and trying to contact them by phone was a frustrating mission. Despite asking them direct questions regarding my soon to expire permit, the status of inspections, etc., I received no response and was left to deal with inspectors on my own with incomplete or incorrect documents. During these 7 months I was unable to use my tub, despite having paid over $20,000. The lack of care and lack of response from this company was a total disrespect to me, as the customer, and in the end, they just attributed the delay to a "glitch" in the County's system, which was not true. I asked for some compensation for my inability to use the tub, but, because of the "glitch", they said "no". To anyone thinking of getting a tub with them, I suggest you withhold a portion of the payment until you have completed inspections, as that is part of the project and installation you pay for. I do not recommend them to anyone.Review from Judy D

They weren't up front in their sales. I bought over a year ago and cannot get the benefit of the tub because I can only fill it to the level of the seat before the water gets cold. Apparently to fill the tub it takes 80 gallons and my home will only fit a 30 gallon water heater. I am very disappointed that I spent so much money and can't use it how it is intended. I basically can only use the shower portion.Review from Sabrina W.

When the salesman came out to talk to us about this tub, he told us that when sitting against back of tub water would reach mid to upper shoulders and if we slouched a little it would reach neck area. We were excited about this as both my mom and I have degenerative disease in our backs/necks plus my mom has scarring on her neck which the Micro-Bubble System would help with, along with the water jets for a soothing bath. It was also for the safety feature of being able to step into the tub without crawling over side of it. We were looking forward to the tub being installed and being able to use it. It was installed, filled and sat for 24 hours, had a leak with initially empty, technician came out and fixed this issue. When we used it for the first time we realised that we were seriously mislead, it takes at least 10 mins to fill during which you are cold, when seated the water only comes to just below the chest area and the only way you can get a full immersion is to scoot off the seat into the foot area of the tub and kinda float. Problem with this is if you have bad knees it starts hurting after just a few moments. It also makes the back hurt as well. I have tried reaching out to the company but our many calls have not been returned regarding this. For $20,000 you at least want to be happy and enjoy tub. We do NOT! At this point I wish we had our old jetted bath back. We are thoughly unhappy about this tub.Safe Step Walk-In Tub Response

I've had my walk-in tub for almost a year and I am very happy with it. Getting in and out of it safely is important to me and the main reason I wanted one. Sometimes things happen. Not long ago the drain lever came unscrewed and fell out, knocking the cover off one of the door hinges, when contacted about it Safe Step responded quickly and within a very short time a service tech fixed the hinge cover, made sure I got the lever back in correctly, applied something to keep it from happening again and addressed a small leak in the hand-held shower attachment. I consider this really good service. And I continue enjoying the benefits of the tub.
