MN Exteriors has been replacing the siding for my HOA. They have left holes inside my house from the exterior. I have left messages and have not received a response. Now, since it is raining and the gutters are gone, I have rain coming in from my window trim. They don't even have the supplies here and have taken down my gutters. They are not responsive to me or my HOA.Review from Jed B

My wife and I met with Gary ******* of MEI this past summer. We were very impressed with his knowledge of windows, the different brands, and options available to us. We decided to go with MEI after meeting with Gary and not having the same experience with other companies. This week the windows were installed by the Team of Zach, Charlie, and Mike. These three gentlemen hit it out of the park with their skill sets, speed and professionalism on the job site. I would highly recommend this organization to anyone without pause. One of the worst companies for customer service. Barb B has been nothing but a headache to deal with, no returned emails or calls. MEI did damage to our A/C unit and a lot of damage to our deck and won't own up to the damage. I have been dealing with them to try and get this resolved for over 8 months. To replace our Azek decking it will be around $26,000 to removed the old and put down new and $3500 to replace our A/C unit. They came back with an offer of a $1000. I will be filing a case with the Department of Industry and Labor.Minnesota Exteriors, Inc. Response

I am still contacting your team with no response from them. I have asked to speak with Barb B's manager and no response. This show me that MEI doesn't value the customer and doesn't stand behind their work. Your response has been nothing but lip service. After receiving quotes from two companies for a new patio door we didn't feel good about them. It was post Covid and everyone was having supply issues. A family member who had a large project done several years ago suggested MEI. I called them and had a rapid response. I can't say enough about MEI and Gary S. who oversaw the project from start to finish. Gary S. kept us informed every step of the way. Gary was very knowledgeable and found us the perfect door. Minnesota *************************** to work with! We had them do a complete exterior remodeling of our **** home. Top to bottom; roofing, gutters, fascia/soffits, siding, and beautiful stone. We cannot say enough from beginning to end, how **** and *** worked with ** step by step! Quick answers to questions and ease of last minute changes! After having a great experience with this company 6 years ago, we expected the same great experience. Sadly we didn’t, after having a new patio door replaced with a faulty screen door, I was told someone would contact me to get it fix. A month went by no one contacted me or cared. Called several times, no one got back to me. Was told they contacted the manufacturer, that was never done. Was told the inspection would be scheduled, that was never done. 7 months later I still have not received my replacement screen door. So very disappointed with customer service, communication, and lack of ability to stand behind a service and product they install. 6 years ago I would have recommended them, today I wouldn’t.Minnesota Exteriors, Inc. Good afternoon, *********. The team at Minnesota Exteriors would like to apologize for the complications that occurred during your patio door project. As soon as we learned that there was an issue with the screen on your door, we contacted the manufacturer, as they are qualified to inspect and assess any problems with their products. We contacted you after requesting a service call with the company, and assured you that we would monitor that service request until it went through. Unfortunately, though our team reached out to the manufacturer repeatedly, it did take longer to hear back from them than is expected, and we apologize for that. Once the company answered our request, we learned that a new screen was on order and would be shipping within a week. There was a miscommunication on our end regarding the closing of your permit and the install of your new screen door; it was believed that your door had in fact been installed and your job was complete. Upon contacting the manufacturer to confirm the installation, we learned that was not true, and we unfortunately had to place another order for a new screen door. We contacted you to let you know the estimated time of arrival for the order, and that we were very sorry for all of the confusion. We do apologize sincerely for any miscommunication, and for the delay in this project. Minnesota Exteriors does stand behind our services, our products, and our workmanship. And, we strive to meet and exceed the expectations of all of our customers. I would not recommend MEI. I had hail damage and they replaced my roof. However, the roof was leaking 2 months after it was replaced because there was a pre-existing problem on the roof that MEI did not fix because they firmly believe that their job is not to fix anything, but to just replace the shingles. Good morning ******. On behalf of our Minnesota Exteriors team, I would like to apologize for any issues that occurred after your roof installation. I understand that we replaced your roof and some months after, you noticed that there was a leak. When our field supervisor visited your home to address this concern, it was noted that due to the weather, your roof had built up some ice dams. Our team let you know that removal of the ice dams would correct the issue, and you had someone out to carry out that service for you. Upon completion of the ice dam removal, it was noted that there was a small gap in the saddle on your roof, and this would need to be fixed. We apologize for not seeing this during our first inspection of your roof. Our service team has since been out to your home and corrected this issue. Response from *** is not correct. When the ***** supervisor came out (on 2/14), the ice dam was already gone. I have videos and proof of payment to the ice dam removal company (another roofer) to prove the timing of all of this, the ice dam was removed on 2/12. The *** ***** supervisor did not go on the roof (there was no ice and very little snow on it because the ice dam remover had steamed all of it away - I have videos), literally told me that the roof is perfect (even though it had not yet been inspected and was clearly leaking), that some roofs they replace will leak, and that he is done talking to me. I was shocked by his refusal to even investigate what was causing the leak, so I told him my next step was to write a review to warn others - which is where this BBB review came in. The only reason there was any further follow up from *** after that is because the next day I had called the city inspector, and he called *** on my behalf. *** then come out and told me that they had put a temporary fix in. Hoping that the temporary fix will be replaced with a permanent fix at some point - although per their response they seem to think that the issue is fixed! FYI: the leak was quite substantial - filling multiple 5-gallon buckets in the matter of 24 hours.Review from Virginia S

Through the help of our salesman Troy D********, we recently had two free inspections of our soffit and attic, because of unusual snow and icicle conditions. This was excellent follow-up service after having a new MEI roof put on the house in 2021. We are impressed with the customer service and reliability of MEI. MEI was the first company out of 4, I received quotes from, that did not pressure me into signing a contract for windows that day. Instead, Gary, my salesman, gave me the information I needed and answered all questions I had. Gary also made some last-minute change requests for me which was great. The windows were installed in January, right when we had mounds of snow everywhere. The 4- person crew installed all 16 windows without any issues, despite the weather conditions. The way the entire crew, Joe, Charlie, Mike and Zach worked together so efficiently and skillfully gave me a great deal of confidence in knowing my windows were being installed using the best methods.
