When I recently purchased a new vehicle, I had a really negative experience. I may not be the richest customer, but I was still there to make a 36k purchase. I buy a car once every 10 years. It's a big deal to me, emotionally and financially. The day I was there by appointment it seemed like no one could be bothered to give me the time of day. What really bothered me in particular, though, was the trade-in I was offered. I was offered HALF the Blue Book "FAIR condition" trade-in value (not the resale value). I was told "the vehicle has major mechanical issues". Excuse my language but that was complete b******. I had my car serviced regularly and on-time from the day I purchased it, always at my local Honda dealership. The service records would show there was NOTHING wrong mechanically with the vehicle besides normal wear-and tear. The vehicle was serviced and maintained and lived mostly in a heated garage. Admittedly there was some cosmetic damage - some scratches, some small dents, dogs hair - but that's why I used the FAIR condition value from KBB for reference. I drove up from 150 miles away so I was captive, I really felt taken advantage of. In addition to the unfair trade in value, when I questioned it (politely) I was rudely dismissed. Beyond that, I expected at least some small level of negotiation. Yes, I fully realize the car market is very different from my last purchase in 2014. But I thought there would be *something* off of MSRP, especially in light of the lousy trade-in. My last dealer sent me coffee mugs later as a thank you, even after giving me a good trade in and a good bit off MSRP. IVG Honda did nothing. On top of all that, I brought my vehicle in to service a few days later (window coating) and was treated very rudely. I drove 150 miles to get there. My BRAND NEW car had an issue. I reported that to the service desk and was told they couldn't be bothered to look for an issue on the vehicle I just purchased from them. Absolutely shameful.Review from Gretchen B

After a lot of research, we bought a used car from IG Honda. Within the first day, the check engine light came on, and it stalled a couple times. Fast forward 40 days, the car had been in and out of the shop for roughly 25 days (Honda covered this cost). The car kept having trouble, so they finally agreed to a trade - for $4k less than the price we paid. We traded it in today for another used car which was about 4k more. So our loan amount just doubled and IG Honda got another sale out of it. Im so upset about it but theres nothing to be done except to write some reviews and hope people go elsewhere to purchase a vehicle. This place is the worst. Stay away.Inver Grove Honda Response

I currently own and drive a 2016 Honda Civic. In 2019 my AC started blowing hot air. I took my vehicle into this dealership for a repair. The service center identified the issue as a leaking condenser. For diagnostics, replacement, and labor the total cost was over $1200. Later that year Honda issued a recall/repair on leaking condensers due to manufacturing issues. I reached out to the dealer for a refund but was informed that my condenser was "damaged" not leaking and thus exempt from the refund. This vehicle has no prior history of accident and no reason for a damaged condenser. Additionally, the dealer had no photos or evidence beyond the notes from the repair to indicate that it was not the manufacturer issue. Fast forward to 2022 - less than 3 years after the repair my AC is again blowing hot air. I contacted the dealer about cost to diagnose/repair again. I was told the MINIMUM cost is almost $500 just to DIAGNOSE the issue. This is despite the fact that I have added less than 20,000 miles to the car since the last AC repair. I will not be purchasing another Honda vehicle and will be taking my vehicle servicing business elsewhere.Inver Grove Honda Response

Hi ******** I am sorry you are having issues again so soon. This is most unfortunate. I also understand your concern that Honda put out a warranty extension after you had this issue. Its important to know that warranty repairs including extensions are only applicable in instances where we can find a manufacturing defect. If we find damage due to external forces this voids all warranty coverage. We would appreciate the opportunity to, diagnose your current issue and explain in full transparency what we found and come to a mutually acceptable resolution.Review from Heidi W

I would give zero stars if possible. Is it too much to expect a “reputable” dealership to put the correct VIN on my Nov 2019 purchase paperwork? Is it too much to expect a “reputable” dealership to correct that mistake when they noticed the issue a few weeks after the purchase? Is it too much to expect a “reputable” dealership to correct the VIN issue when my car registration was suspended in Aug 2021 because the dealership never fixed the issue in 2019? I guess two years and two months still isn’t enough time to fix the mess...I look forward to the day when the VIN on the title matches the physical car. From what I’m told, that won't be happening in the near future.Inver Grove Honda Response

Hello I understand how frustrating this situation is for you, and, regrettably, motivated you to leave this review. We take great pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience and unfortunately we did not live up to that expectation in your case. I recognize that we made an error with your vehicle identification number, and although its rare it does happen from time to time as to error is human. However, I can assure you that we are fully committed to correcting this issue and Im 100 percent confident it will be resolved. I appreciate all of your assistance in helping us resolve this matter. It is a slow process and your patience is greatly appreciated as we continue to follow all the necessary steps to correct your title.
