My complaint is high pressure sales and deceitful and dishonest business practices by Miracle Ear.My 86-year-old aunt was having trouble with her hearing aids so she went to Miracle Ear for help. They charge $50 per visit. The specialist suggested new aids and began a sales push and fitted her with new aids and let her try them for one week. At the time of the visit he offered a special promotion of two-year financing at 0% interest with a down payment. It felt rushed, but she agreed and made her down payment. After the week trial she returned to purchase them and was told the promotion had ended so she would not get the 0% interest. I disputed, and contacted his manager and told him it was unprofessional and unethical to change the terms of a sale before it completed. He said he would check into it and call back but did not. The specialist called then and stated they were honoring the 2 year no interest offer. The contract he presented stated interest would be added for the full term at a rate of *****% and would return the interest paid at the end of the 2-year term. That is a very unscrupulous business practice. Many Miracle Ear clients are seniors living on fixed incomes and need to determine how much they can afford in a monthly payment. The entire process was uncomfortably aggressive and an unpleasant experience.Review from Jim H

This company lied to me about the price of the hearing aids. I agreed to purchase 2 hearing aids, My insurance was to pay $2500 towards the cost and I put down a $500 down payment. The afternoon after the appointment I check my insurance and found that it had not been long enough since purchasing hearing aids, they would not pay at this time. I called Miracle Ear the following morning and told them I could not afford the aids without the insurance help. They told me to keep my appointment and they would look into the matter. The following week when I went back they offered a price that I could not afford. I never saws the hearing aids, are was even asked to try them, but they won't refund my $500 downpayment. This took place at the Miracle Ear office in ******** ****, ************************ is the hearing specialist there. Please be cautious and don't let them take advantage of you.Review from Randy s

After spending over $4,000 in January '23 I have yet to receive a pair of hearing aids that work. Multiple visits, phone calls, and trial hearing aids were a waste of my money and everyone's time. In the end, I was told that I need to change my phone to an Iphone in order for the hearing aids to work. Sadly, that fact was confirmed by three different Miracle-Ear employees. I should have been told that "known" fact before they took my money and wasted all of our time with other trial hearing aids. Be aware, if you have an android phone and want to pair it with your hearing aids, confirm that it can be done, in writing, before you sign the contract. Absolutely, deceptive sales going on there at the Palm Harbor, ** location.Review from Terry C

The reviews are rather unfortunate.I have been a Miracle-Ear customer for the last 3 years at the ******** location, Brooklyn, **.***********************, Hearing Instruments Specialist, has always gone above and beyond with my care. **************** has been able to resolve any glitches with my hearing aids in an efficient manner. I received my hearing aids and had weekly visits for about 6 weeks before transitioning to 3 month then 6 month visits. The hearing aids are expensive and that can really hit a customer where it hurts. Financing plans are available. I must add, however, that from a customer perspective, I receive a high value service ranging from ease of access to my Specialist and efficient repairs, when needed. I am pleased to see that some Miracle-Ear devices have been able to ensure bluetooth connectivity to android devices.Review from MM T

I was considering the Miracle Ear hearing aids for my hearing loss until I read the reviews on BBB page. I am outraged! Apparently, this company and its franchises are scam artists that bilk innocent people out of thousands of dollars with warranty promises that they can't (and they don't intend to) keep. For my own info, I called one of its local offices and asked a simple question: What are the AVERAGE prices for each of the three types of hearing aids that you sell? Instead of answering my question, she started asking all kinds of personal question that I refused to give. Then she wanted me to set up an appointment for "evaluation" by an "specialist". Miracle Ear is not alone; I have heard similar stories about a number of other hearing aid manufacturers. This is one case that I believe the government (or the ***** should step in and stop consumers, particularly the senior citizens, being ripped off by these scammers. I am a retired physicist with more than forty years of experience in developing high tech instruments. I know something about electronics. The total cost of all components used in most high end hearing aids is $28. How, in good conscience, they charge $4000 to $8000 for junks that they produce is beyond me.Review from Nancy S.

I received a post card from Miracle Ear promising $25 if I came in for a free hearing test. I did that in May, and when I presented the card, I was told I'd receive the $25 in two weeks. Didn't happen, so I called first the **** Rapids ******************* then the 800# they provided for Miracle Ear, and again was told I'd receive it in two weeks. Didn't happen. I called again and talked to someone on June 22, and again on July 11, same response. On July 11, they were very apologetic, and the woman said she would make sure I get it this time! She promised I would receive it by July 26. It's August 4 today, still nothing. On Aug 2, there was a missed call on my phone from the ****************** in **** Rapids. I thought maybe they had information for me about the $25, but when I called them back, both the receptionist and the audiologist said they knew nothing about anyone calling me, and they knew nothing about the $25.I realize this is not a large amount, but it makes me mad that a company can get away with promoting offers that they don't honor. The hearing test and the people in the **** ************* were fine, but Miracle Ear has ruined its reputation for me, and for the people I talk to about them. A person needs to be able to trust the companies they deal with.
