18 bad reviews out of *****? customers? Not bad guys.I have NOTHING but good things to say about Stearns and everything they have done for me and our company!Yes, we have been in business for 14 years, but they could have still turned us away and they didn't. I have been with this bank since 2018 and have had nothing but issues with them from the beginning. They have been charging me for insurance on vehicles and equipment that I sold almost a year ago and trying to get this changed is next to impossible They are not a partner and only looking at the money they can make. I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere where the interest rate is not jacked up to 11%!Stearns Bank Response

Getting a loan through this company was the biggest mistake I've ever made. I have the account on auto pay cuz I want to make sure I'm not late on payment. They took money out of my account without letting me know then sent me an email invoice showing what they took out. When I called and questioned them about it, I surprisingly got an email saying that they could get a hold of me and the letter they sent was returned to them. They had my address the whole entire time but some how it got sent to the wrong address and I'm just getting an email letting me know that while I'm on the phone with them. The whole thing is very shady and unprofessional. I will never do business with them again.Stearns Bank Response

The most unprofessional, harassing and intimidating tactics I have ever dealt with. The discriminate against minorities and even have tried to insinuate that fraud has been committed in our account because my brothers contact information was on the contract solely to serve as translator for my father (guarantor). Even after payment was sent - over $51,000.00 (albeit a few weeks late due to my father being at hospital) they sent our account to collections, charged us a $11,000.00 late fee - and ordered a repossession of the equipment. In a matter of weeks. Now, they are harassing us by saying despite receiving payment, they have chosen to accelerate the note and make the entire loan due immediately. I have NEVER dealt with a bank that doesnt have the interest in resolution. They are here to scare you, harass you and bully you into their own terms. DO not contract with them.Stearns Bank Response

Like others, my experience with Stearns Bank has been awful. We used them as a facilitator for an SBA Loan to help fund our franchised business back in 202, and in hindsight, I should have done more research, or looked at some of these reviews PRIOR to going with the Franchisor's recommended lender (you guessed it....Stearns).Since our business relationship started, the level of compassion and understanding has been laughable. Even through the pandemic, we have never missed a payment (we have auto-pay). They have almost $25k of our money that they took as "security" in 2019, in case we didn't pay on time, or to show the business could be viable, and now, 3 years later, they won't return it because we still haven't shown via our financials the "right" debt/income ratios according to their underwriters. Even through the pandemic, when many businesses have closed down, we have made almost 40 payments, on time, and yet this isn't enough history for them?They claim to be a "friend" to small business, but they aren't and they go out of their way to drain every dime from their small business clients. Granted, "they are just trying to make the money they are allowed to make" but don't believe them when they are trying to win your business and they make themselves out to be some sort of advocate to you or your business....it's simply not true.Finally, their technology is sub-par. No way to access our account, no online statements, or year-end statements. Each January, I have to reach out to get a statement of what I have paid each year for my accounting team, to ensure it matches my records and it always takes SO LONG to get a response. Considering the amount of fees, etc. that they seem to be charging everyone else here, you'd think they'd reinvest in better technology, but the improvements are nowhere to be found.My experience with them has been horrible, and I will never do business with them again. I would highly recommend NOT giving them your business either.Stearns Bank Response

The WORST loan company I have dealt with in 36 years! We just went through a category 4 hurricane. Haven't had power, water, internet for 6 days. I paid my October payment in advance, 20 days. I had a late fee from September, they took my advance payment and used it for the late fee. **** keeps reciting his memorized "what I agreed to" over and over again. Stating that I understood the risk paying online, that it can take 3 days. BS nothing takes 3 days. NOW they are going to say that my October payment is late and charge me ANOTHER late fee. Wonder how much PPP they received during Covid. They sure are not for helping small businesses. Vultures......thank goodness for companies like ***** Fargo, TAK, Truist.Stearns Bank Response

Ok I cannot believe that this place is allowed to do business. I opened up a account and they were very nice made $100 dollar cash deposit and went on my way. Had a mobile deposit for $1,800 from out of country. Received a phone call from one of the crooks they employ asking if I knew about it and I replied yes, was informed that they were putting a two day hold on it because I had not mentioned it when I opened the account and because it was from another country, I said thats fine I do not need it right now just wait for it to clear. So two days later I check to see if it cleared and was then informed there would be a week hold. I replied the same ok I am not going to try to withdraw it just wait for it to clear. And was rudely asked what it was for I said that it is my business and not to worry. Next day they mail a copy of it to me claiming that it was fraudulent and my account showed negative $1,800 what the heck? Called and account was fixed minus 4 dollars oh well. Was asked again what it was for and during that conversation I realized that I was not talking to management so I asked to speak with management and was informed that someone would be in on Tuesday, meanwhile I receive a statement saying that my account was positive the $1,800. I walk in Tuesday and ask for management and was informed that they were at another branch. About 5-7 "associates" behind counter and I was told very proudly that the account was closed and they issued a cashier check for remaining balance and mailed it. Oh thanks alot as I walked out door. So I would actually like the $22 dollars that I was charge for checkes that I burned because the place is ran like a soap opera episode! This isnt a bank it is a criminal organization that will do nothing but steal from you and ****** and dime you to death with hidden fees. I got an equipment loan back in 2018 through another lender, somehow my loan ended up with stearns bank. They provide no loan information to you on any of your statements. They had no website for the first two years, and now have a customer interface that looks like It was built when the internet first started. They then in 2020 decided to start charging fees for payments that were sent from other banks, saying they had to charge a check fee due to check fraud (no other bank in America does this). Nothing but a criminal organization that will steal from their customersStearns Bank Response
