Date: July 19, 2022 Amount of money paid -rental fee $95 -damage deposit $900 -additional damage cost $2250 Rented 3 Jet Ski’s for 6 people from the business for 1 hour to use in the lake at Cultus. We had 2 people per jet ski and did not switch or change while we were in the water. While we were out in the water the jet ski, one of my friends was jumping into the water and hit his head while he jumped off. I then got close to them to make sure he was okay. I came close to them from the front then the right side of my jet ski ended up hitting the right side of theirs which left visible scratch marks on the top of theirs. After we got back to the marina they did an inspection of the jet skis. No one talked to us and when we tried to talk to them they stated we had to wait. The owner was not there and after he came then we finally spoke to someone. I told him exactly what happened and he continues to tell us that we caused damage to our third jet ski which was not involved in anything because they stayed 100m away at all times. He continues to accuse us of something we did not do and tells me I have to pay for the damages. He was being very rude and this was the first time I have ever rented something like this so I did not know what to do and I paid the additional fees of $2250. Then he continues to say he won’t be returning any of the 3 $900 damage deposits and we would have to pay for a Jet Ski that we did not damage at all. I believe the the reason that theres a 900$ damage deposit fee, is so that, that’s the money they take if theres damages. The owner forced *** ******** more money from me and then didn’t return any of the other deposits. The 900$ Is placed as a damage deposit incase something happens then they keep that. I don’t mind them keeping the 900$ but I would like my 2250$ returned because they should never have charged me that and I felt like it was forced********* from me.
