Je suis cliente depuis plusieurs annes chez Peoples jai toujours reu auparavant un excellent service et en franais en plus! Mais depuis 3 semaines je te tente de les joindre et impossible de parler qui que ce soit. Jattends interminablement sur les lignes, je laisse des messages, des courriels et personne ne me rpond ou ne me rappelle. De plus, mon compte en ligne a t bloqu alors je nai plus accs mes fonds, je suis extrmement inquite! Que se ***se-t-il? La banque est-elle en difficult? Sont-ils en train de bloquer les transactions? Jai un placement qui arrive chance dans quelques jours et je ne suis mme *** capable de donner mes instructions!Du jamais vu chez Peoples!Je me demande srieusement si par scurit il ne vaudrait *** mieux que je me retire!
ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
I have been a customer for several years at Peoples and have always received excellent service before, and in French too! But for 3 weeks I've been trying to reach them and I can't talk to anyone. I wait endlessly on the lines, I leave messages, emails and no one answers me or calls me back. In addition, my online account has been blocked so I no longer have access to my funds, I am extremely worried! What is going on? Is the bank in trouble? Are they blocking transactions? I have an investment that is due in a few days and I can't even give my instructions! Unheard of at Peoples! I seriously wonder if for safety it would not be better that I withdraw!

Been trying for the past 6 months to get a statement of accounts to settle an estate. I am starting to suspect that they do not wish to relinquish funds and thus are using delay tactics. Like other reviewers here it is very difficult to get someone to speak to and they leave you hanging on the robocall till it finally disconnects saying all the operators are busy. Recently I was attracted by the great GIC rates of People ************** and submitted all required information to People ************** to open an account. After 10 days waiting, I still have not receive my initial account information. I sent emails to this bank but no response. I called the customer services in morning, afternoon and all the possible windows but no one responded at all. Terrible customer service! GICs automatically renew unless you call them but they won't answer their phone and they won't return your calls. I emailed several times before I got an incorrect response and now have called and left several message with no calls returned.Customer Response

I have the same feedback as reviewer ********** on Feb 16. There is absolutely no way to reach them and I cannot access my online account. 2 emails over the past 3 weeks have gone ignored. Endless attempts and wait times of over ************************************* disconnects. There is no way to leave voicemails. I simply need to reach them to access my account and transfer my funds elsewhere at this point. Not worth the additional interest. Worst bank. Poor client relations, no accountability, unprofessional, - continuously making careless mistakes whereby the client losses short and long term, poor and non-existent customer care service with long-term clients, do not follow instructions, take ages to return a phone call, unnecessarily involving so many reps, if it even returns and very *******t. Clients with fewer investments get treated differently, A simple request like moving funds from one account to another can turn into a nightmare. I have had regular TFSA savings account since 2014, now I am pulling 100% of my money out to transfer to another bank. Before the transfer process was completed, all my online data and historical records had already been inaccessible within 2 days of the request in the same week. It's absurd. I understand inactive bank accounts get closed or deleted after a period. *** **** **** ******** **** ***** **** ** *** *** ** **** My advice: save yourself the headache, don't get lured by the high interests. Hello, We have reviewed your call history with us and can see that the interaction you mention, with one of our customer service representatives, occurred on Friday and again on Monday. As you had already transferred out your entire TFSA already (before this interaction), it was not possible for you to see the $0.00 balance, as once the last account is closed, there is no more online access. Once the withdrawal is done on our end, it is in “transit” to the other FI. Our Deposit Services Manager did attempt to reach you as requested on Monday afternoon, with no success - only getting voicemail. We did attempt to explain the account closing process, and that your funds had transferred already (before this interaction), but our attempts seem to have been misinterpreted. We would be happy to give you a call to discuss the process again if you are looking for additional clarity. In addition, we can provide you with documentation and the record of your TFSA account closure from earlier this month, and can mail you a copy of your last statement for the month of July. I was given a gift card issued from them for shopping in 2017, I used the card halfway and was inactive with it for months after. I recently checked to see the balance and found 50$ worth of inactivity fees on my account, I live in Alberta and such has been illegal for a long time. I am in the middle of working with their customer service. Such states on the back of the card there are account fees but being most people don’t even see a gift cards fine print til after purchasing I found this unacceptable considering from what I’ve found it is illegal to do this in general. Beware and don’t be quick to throw away cards when they say they are empty when someone hasn’t used them. My sister threw out her cards without thinking of calling and looking up the legality behind it
