The owner admitted that I was paid for a piece of 18kt gold as a 14kt piece that was probably mixed in with the other gold. He asked what he was suppose to do? He also told me too bad. The 18kt was a heir loom watch where the bottom is marked 18kt and I wanted to get the top tested to see if it was 18kt as well. I told him I wanted that piece back as I would get the watch restored. He than challenged me stating that after he took out the crystal and filed off the piece of gold , I was going to fix it. I told him that I was not a jeweler, but having the piece back would be needed for my plans. I was open to pay for the piece that he filed off to get it back. I asked him for clarity on his practices as some of the other pieces in the container of gold and sterling I brought looked like they were not even taken out of the bags, and some are marked sterling and 925. I reminded him that some earrings even though not marked, similar ones I brought in time back, the stems tested as 14 and 10kt. . His eye literally changed into a "how dare you question me look", and he outlined how I brought him in these tiny worthless pieces that were junky and he should not have even taken the time he did. I walked away without my piece of 18kt that is needed to restore the watch. He does not have integrity ********** He was ************ so unprofessional.

The owner was not open to even come to a resolution as he felt that I was paid for the item even at a 14kt level.
