Purchased a vehicle from this dealership with a fresh “safety” . Two weeks later a couple weeks later the vehicle started making undercarriage noise (heat shield ) I have put the vehicle on the hoist to faster the heat shield and found a massive hole in the floor (size of my fist ) and one leaf spring was broken and missing . They do their safeties in house *** ***** **** **** **** ** * *** ** ****** **** ***** ******** ****** **** ********* **** *** ****** ** . When I brought it up to their attention Steve didn’t sound very surprised but offered me to repair the issues . They welded in a plate in the floor and installed a used leaf spring . At this point I have lost one day of pay due to this being a work vehicle. A couple weeks after that a whining noise appeared ( louder then before ) and sound was coming from the transmission. I brought the vehicle to two different transmission shops and they both said that transmission will need to be fully rebuild and the cost will be $************. When I brought this up to Steve he pretty much told me that all vehicles that they sell are “as-is” with no guarantees unless I buy extended insurance **** ** ***** ******** ***** **** **** * *** *** . ** **** ***** * *** **** **** **** *** ********** *** ***** ** *** ** ***** ****** *** ***** ******* ** **** **** ** ******* . Steve offered me a free 1 year warranty to help me out with the transmission repairs but unfortunately he said that I cannot use the warranty untill the transmission blows up completely .. so basically you cannot make a claim if a part is failing until it fails completely and destroys other components and then you are stuck without a vehicle for weeks . **** ***** ***** * ***** *** ********* ****** ********** * ******* **** **** *********** *** ** *** ** ****** ** ******** ********* **** **** * ***** ****** ********* ******* *** ******* ********* ** ******* **** ***** ** ******** *

Hi Andre, thank you for the review. Going through my notes on your file, I do see we took care of a few after sale issues that were brought up, no questions asked. I do show a hole that was repaired, which was covered by a heat shield; which is unfortunately not visible without removing heat shields to see. Unfortunate that it made it through, but we took care of it free of charge no questions asked. The leaf spring looked like a fresh break, but we replaced it for you anyways as well. I do sympathize that you had lost wages with your vehicle being down for maintenance, but that does go par for the course when a vehicle is in for service. Carvista does not have any commercial service vans available for daily loaners. As for the transmission noise, we have gone well above and beyond the requirements and expectations on your vehicle. Please keep in mind that this 2009 GMC Savana work van has 3 times the KM the factory warranty covered it for, and we did not manufacture it ourselves. We supplied you with the requested maintenance and service records that shows the previous owner had the transmission rebuilt roughly 60000KM ago at a facility unrelated to Carvista. At the time of purchase, I personally always urge people to purchase a warranty on their vehicle, particularly for situations like this on a used work van. I also expressly show on our bills of sale that they are sold without warranty beyond such as we are not the manufacturer. Because the transmission has not failed, and simply has more noise than you’d like, a warranty company would not replace the transmission in this type of situation as it is functioning as designed. Ultimately, I offered to provide you with a free 1-year power train warranty, which would not only cover you if the transmission did indeed fail, but the rest of your powertrain as well. Please also keep in mind, you have not allowed Carvista to inspect the transmission ourselves or send it to a facility to be formally diagnosed. I’m sure anyone reading this review can see that Carvista has gone above and beyond the requirements and obligations we have, and always strive to ensure the customer is left satisfied. Unfortunately, in this case he has expectations beyond what we can offer. Steven ********* General Manager – Carvista Inc.
