Martin C. We hired Margaret's Moving & Storage to store our household goods in November of 2010. We subsequently learned from Margaret that they liquidated our goods at auction due to non-payment of storage fees. They refused to provide us with any details of the sale. Suit was filed and 12 years later, the judge ruled that they were liable and damages to be determined by mediation. On 2/15/2022, the company filed for Chapter bankruptcy. We were not notified of this action. We learned that during the time of the litigation, the company did not file required forms with the KY Transportaion Cabinet. An e-mail dated 6-22-2020, states "this carrier does not have HHG authority or the described forms for 2019 to present." HHG is household goods. Another e-mail dated 8-27-2019 in answer to my Open Records Request stated "..... pertaining to forms TC-95-609 and TC-95-44 regarding Margaret's Moving and Storage for the past five (5) years, please be advised that we have no records responsive to your request." These forms are relative to their trucks and employee screening. At deposition, Margaret and Arthur Weathers under oath swore they sold our goods to Aaron Weathers, Arthurs brother. Aaron swore he took our goods to a flea market and his mother sold all of it from a 10' x 10' floor space. The auctioneer and his wife testified that there was no sale the day the Weathers claimed. Margaret posted a picture of her Thanksgiving table during the lawsuit. It showed our table, chairs, tablecloth, glasses teacart and several silver serving pieces. Her daughter posted a picture of a bench that went with my wife's dressing table. Margaret also posted pictures of our patio furniture at her rented house. Prior to the move, I took room by room pictures in case there was a dispute. I have to give a star or bbb won't accept this review! NO STAR! NO STAR! I used this company to move from my home to a brand new home. Movers damaged my hardwood floors in my home I’m getting ready to sell and damaged the walls in my master bedroom down to the drywall. Left marks on the walls all over my new house and also damaged two chairs. The three movers didn’t bothering showing me the damages that were done. At the time to pay the price went from a quote if $750 to $1275 plus a $225 tip as I had not seen the damages or I would not have tipped.I contacted the owner several times through emails and she assured me she would call me the next day. The move was on the 12th of January and haven’t heard back from Margaret yet. I would never recommend this business to anyone. I’ve had professional services done for my new home and everyone was very professional except Margarets Movers. That the owner herself (Margaret) couldn’t honor that she would call me back and has ignored my emails is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. I paid almost double and the movers left items at my home that I asked to be loaded and moved to the new house. I paid good money, thought I was paying for a professional service and had everything organized to make loading easy and this experience was very unprofessional. I do not recommend ever using Margaret’s Movers to anyone. The owner is the most unprofessional and once she got my money she didn’t bother to try and see how we could handle the situation with my damages. I am out now forced to pay more money to fix the damages to both homes which I am sure the moving company has Insurance to cover. The most unprofessional business I have ever came across. Sad the owner didn’t have the decency to even call me back like she said she would. I would never recommend using this company to anyone! Worst experience ever!

Sandy, It is unfortunate that after the numerous lengthy conversations we had over several months in planning your move, that I am not afforded the opportunity to get out of the hospital and recover from covid before the situation is escalated. I explained to you in a previous email that my entire household has had Covid as well as staff. I have sent you a claim form via email. Please fill out and return per the instructions. However, I do take extreme exception to "the owner is the most unprofessional" since I spend a lot of time walking you through the moving process and calming your nerves to the point even you pointed out that "I've probably talked your ear off again" to which I always assured you that I was here for you. Thank you,
