      I had my water heater installed from Payless Water Heaters. The installation was faulty because they used really poor pipe material and the pipes got really corroded, rusted and started leaking. During the installation, they used galvanized steel pipes, which will obviously rust and corrode with water.So, I called them to come take a look. When they got to my place, they charged me $442 to replace a single small pipe that costs ~$10 at ********** and could be replaced with a few turns of a wrench. This should have been free, given that they installed a faulty pipe in the first place that they knew would rust and corrode.BEWARE of using this company. They performed a faulty installation using materials they knew would corrode and rust. And then when I asked them to come fix the issue they caused, they charged me $442 to replace a single small pipe.Save yourself the headache and go with a different company. Buyer beware!Another thing is that the business owner is untruthful. In my yelp review of this business, the owner replied saying that they did not install my hot water heater, which is a total lie. Instead of owning up to doing a faulty hot water tank installation, the business owner decided to lie in a public forum and say they did NOT perform the original installation. Very unprofessional business practice.

      OK, so we had to replace our water heater 14 months ago. Payless did the job. and it was fine. but yesterday there was a water leak. I saw that it was coming from the top flex pipe. I would have fixed it myself if I hadn't injured my ribs the day before. so I called payless, they came out and said it was a faulty flex pipe that they installed 14 months ago. but since it was over the 12 month Guarantee by a whole 2 months. that it will cost ****** for a faulty part that they installed!
      Now maybe technically the guarantee was expired. But, to me a good and fair company would not have charged the customer for something like this. I have had 3 hot water heaters in my life and have never had any problems for at least 12 - 15 years. for them saying that it was a faulty part that they installed, you would think an honest and honorable company would take the hit, and not be putting it on the customer that already paid mucho $$$ for a new HWH just over a year ago.
      I know when I had my own company I would have taken responsibility and not charged the customer for the faulty equipment that I used.
      Also ***** the man I was talking to on the phone was not sympathetic at all. However the tech ****** was.
      Anyways I expect a new HWH not to have any problems for at least 10 years. and for this to have a problem after only 14 months, I expect the company that I use to be honorable and "do the right thing".
      this company did not.
