      Salesman showed up at the door to upgrade our security system from a different company. He looked at what we had and told us his would have all the same features but would be faster and clearer and he would take care of cancelling our existing system with VIVINT. After signing his contract the system was installed. The next day we saw that the feature we use most often on the old system was not on his system. We called the company and they said that the doorbell camera was the wrong one and that they would send a tech to replace it but would take 9 days for him to get there. 9 days later the tech came and replaced the doorbell camera and we saw that our feature still did not work. He informed us that his system did not have that feature. I called the company and told them we wanted to cancel and was told since it was past 3 days on the contract it would cost us $4000 to cancel. After several more calls and texts that we were having other issues with their system and still wanted to cancel and would not pay $4000 since we were fed untruths at the start and had to wait 9 days after instillation to see it the issue was resolved they told me they would send a tech back out to fix the problems but it would take about a week or so for him to get there. The tech was real nice and did what he needed to do but told us the features we used on the old system cannot be used on his system. Called the company again to cancel at no charge and was told they would investigate and get back to me within 72 hours - that was a week ago and still no word. There system did not have the features we were promised and is even harder to use. Also found out that they do not cancel existing systems that it was up to the homeowner - another fib

      I had ADT for 8 years without one single problem. I have had Brinks/Skyline for 8 months and it's been nothing but time and aggravation and expense!!!The customer service/"Loyalty Department" accomplishes nothing. They answer the phone, are polite, but are powerless to do anything, including transfer my countless calls to a supervisor. WHY BRINKS/SKYLINE MUST GO: I received a call from someone several months ago saying they were with my security company (ADT) and that they needed to come replace my outdated control panels. That seemed reasonable, as the equipment was 8 years old. However, when the "tech" came to change out the panels on the scheduled date, it was instead a very sleazy Brinks sales person (*******************). He told me ****** had taken over ADT and I needed to switch. So the panels were changed the next day (as I rearranged my schedule so that he could earn sales points and win a *****). From there, I went back and forth with Skyline on the contract timeframe and monthly fee. It was exhausting, but the equipment was in and I didn't want to make further changes. However, after 1 month of the equipment being in, the alarm has gone off several times, the panels have gone blank - often leaving on bright panel lights in the middle of the night. The worst has been the constant ALERTS that have gone off EVERY 10 SECONDS until I physically go to the panels and go through the steps to silence the Alert. This has been going on EVERY FOUR HOURS for weeks. The panels have been replaced 3 times. The tech says there is nothing else that can be done. REACHING SOMEONE AT SKYLINE WHO CAN HELP CANCEL MY CONTRACT has been next to impossible. I have tried to reach my contact there for weeks. There is a scheduled call with him later today, and if I do not hear from him, I will take it to my lawyer. The people on the phone when I actually reach a ************ staffer are very nice, but countless calls and long wait time have produced NOTHING.
